Plowman is decent. But yeah… It’s a sorry bunch.

What a mistake Jaksch was.

Yippyeah pig whistles and moon pies can’t compete. Would have thrown in some hohos and dingdongs Twinkies and snowballs but oh well then…

The worst part about this whole trade period is having a weekend in the middle where NOTHING happens. And I’m not convinced that it translates into a bunch of deals being finalised Monday morning. Cut it back to 5 days, or do 7 and no place an embargo on weekend trading.

we should be trying to get a future second from GWS as part of this deal

the way they’re apparently trading means it will be pick 20

FC will have 19, obviously

There’ll be plenty going on this weekend.

Scully is good. Real good.

Behind closed doors. The most you can hope for is a player nominating or asking for a trade. Otherwise there isn’t much incentive for clubs to vocalist what is going on/agreed upon.

i get the media happing over hawthorn and what they’ve achieved, but why the freaking hell do other teams give these ■■■■ wipes a leg up time and time again? ffssss

Seriously, the AFL that likes a manipulation at all times, should get the Scully and Patton double to Carlton or StKilda. A big key forward and a running machine will improve both of those sides enough to make them competitive and perhaps have their members thinking finals, which should translate to $$.

(and surely much better than propping Hawthorn up. Although there is the risk with Hawthorn. Be rubbish for about 3 years and they will likely be ready to be wound up, so they have to prop them up at least a bit.)

If we have to give GWS 2 first rounders I’d be looking to do a trade with Adelaide.

Pick 9 for 16 and 21 (gets Adelaide another top ten pick and crucially before Ports pick at 10). Then use 16 and next years first. Obviously GWS would have to be ok with it, but gives a tasty pick at 21.

Scully was good. Real good. But will he ever be same? Doesn’t fit our age demographic either. Fogdog has stated we are not after him a few weeks ago. I’d rather get Martin either this year, or if he costs to much in picks, we will get him next year.

Only time will tell if he will get back to his best but one thing you can bank on is that Scully’s professionalism is without peer and he will leave no stone un-turned in his endeavours to regain full fitness.

Ben Cousins levels of preparation were legendary but Scully goes even further. If he’s available, every club would want him.

Actually, the AFL sped up the timetable a few years back which caught GWS out. It was the year they lost about 7 players (inc Marchbank and Ahern).

So the AFL compromised the comp for years with all the draft concessions for GWS, then pulled the rug out from under them when they were coming good.

Can you imagine how good footy would be if we had competent people running it?

Yep.

I can guarantee that they did!
