The way contracted players themselves talk about moving and clubs talking about moving contracted players I have no idea what value a contract actually has.

If Laverde can’t establish himself in a team that has made finals once in a blue moon by end of next season, then not sure he is going to make it. Call me crazy, but maybe he just ain’t that good. If the Saints or dogs want him, all power to them and then can stay in the bottom half of the ladder (used those two as not sure anyone else would be mad enough to bite).

Three possible reasons.
Either the company who made them was making them before the 1975 cut off, which is how Sekem, for example, makes AFL jumpers.
Or
They pay for the rights to make them.
Or
They’re prepared to run the risk of making the product and having the AFL come down on them with a cease and desist letter telling them they own the brand.

stuff like this takes time, hanneberry took a couple weeks, setterfield took basically a week too, smith/saad/stringer took till week 2 as well im pretty sure as well.
