Trade talk - from August 2024

I know right, partiulalry considering how good a trainer he is, how fit he comes back after preseason, how he is consistent from game to game, how great a team player he is and how selfless he is around goals.

He’s the type of player a team would build their list around.

Yeah, it’s a shame that when you lose a key forward that you have to play with 17 players the following year. Feels unfair.

We’ve got enough soft players who pick and choose when then want to give effort.

He isn’t the icing on the cake or the cherry on top, he is literally the cake.

That is his knock.
Always looks disinterested. Like Langford…

Not saying Langford is soft, just emotionless face.

Lukosius is yuck. In a team that has everything else right he’d be nice but yeah, no thanks. Especially at the salary cost he’d be.

He is the grain plant from which the wheat grows that the farmers mill into flour that makes the cake. Actually no, he is the soil the wheat grows in. Maybe he is even the mantle of the earth upon which the soil sits. Or maybe even the earths core. I actually think Stringer may be God.

Ok so the draw against Collingwood cost us pick 5 but kept them out of the finals.

Was it worth it?

I’d take him over Perkins 100/100

Six years at $950k is a tad overs.
We’re paying McKay $1mil heavily front loaded which dives back down pretty heavily for the rest of his contract in comparison to Battle.

Why focus on that. We could have done that and just drawn rather than won against Freo later in the year and achieved the same thing.

P.S. It is what it is. The players out on the ground are going to try and win every game and rightfully so. Well apparently anyway.

It’s just unfortunate. Again.

Team selection with more of a focus on the future than the now might help balance it out better though.

Importantly, however, we avoided the dreaded pick 6.

He’d run us into the ground on purpose

Was losing the handful of super winnable games and missing finals worth it?

That’s a rabbit hole……

Well heck, may as well give him another 2 years then

I want to see the Cake and Kako pairing.

Does anyone have any realistic trade shopping lists for this offseason for us?

I’m coming up blank.

We allegedly have $$$ to spend still, but on who?

he needs to sacrifice his first born to atone for the sins of the EFC.

maybe then he can have a new deal.

I don’t care what he does if he kicks another 40+ goals next season

Just Rosa.

Saving $$$$ for Reid next year.

There’s a gaping hole at half back.

Unless we think Roberts/El Hawli/Duursma/
Setterfield? Merrett?
One of those can do it
