If Richmond finish last next year he could just walk to them as a uncontracted player and be happy. (was a Tigers supporter)
Trading with Richmond this year will be ideal, theyâll end up with a ton of picks and will be giving some away that are likely to be unused or that brings in established talent.

It seems to be accepted wisdom that Richmond will end up with first rounders for all of their 28yos - Iâm not so sure.
And I think weâd have rocks in our heads not to back ourselves on Hobbs, Tsatas.

You imagine Tigers get a couple of picks from Freo for Bolton & Baker.
mckay, ridley, mcgrath redman are all on long term deals, you add housten that makes 5 players in the backline. Ridley is the youngstest of that bunch, whoâs turning 26 in 2 months.
your statements, while I agree with the first part, itâs a contradiction in our current defensive 6 set up, cos you arenât building a young quality core around him down there, youâre pararchuting him into a shitshow and expecting him to fix the backline problems.

What if we could turn Hobbs into Sam Lalor? Use the late 1st pick or early second pick weâd get for him, pair it with our first to trade up a few spots? Iâd give up Hobbs for a player that could seriously plug a gap in the future.

Yes. They were worried we were interested. He clearly hasnât impressed them since. I would imagine the draft capital needed to get him would be very small.

Or is it just going to set us back a couple of years in development that we will lose from Hobbs. A shorter but still highly rated contested midfielder.
Hobbs is a scrapper. Hard at it. Super competitive. We have so little of that on our list. Deficiencies like his kicking can be worked on.
Trade Parish and Shiel instead.

Sinn? Yeah he seems like a kid who just stagnated and hasnât quite gotten it together. He has had injuries too. Heâs a rebounding defender.
Perhaps a move to his home state/change of scenery would do him the world of good? Perhaps he just isnât that good?
Jack Scrimshaw was also considered a total bust up on the Gold Coast. Moved to the HawksâŚtaken a few years but now he looks pretty serviceable off half back. If only we could develop playersâŚ

Hobbs really needs to work on not playing for high free kicks and disposing of the ball quicker in heavy traffic. It feels like he gets done for holding the ball way too often.

A parish Houston straight swap would honestly be a good deal for us. Gives us something we need, costs something we can afford to lose (with tsatas and Hobbs in development)
