Trade talk - from October 2024 (Part 7)

Cant afford to miss out on that Tstatas and Francis with our 2 top 10 picks.

I think if we have 2 high picks or Harley, its a win win.

Ironically, given the new cost of matching if those academy players do end up as talented as Blitz is frothing about we probably couldn’t afford them and Reid.

Additionally, neither help with the defensive half, high quality kicking or tall needs. Neither does Reid for that matter.

Yep, I want more sticks without a clear role and more players that can’t kick please.

I’m not overly impressed with the Draft talent for this year. There’s no clear standout, it’s the perfect year blow it all on Harley

Reid and both nga boys still a good out come imo

A lot of clubs will trade out of this draft imo its dominated by f/s and ngas

Harley Reid every day of the week. He is 20 year old MF stud. I’d swap all of our last 6 first rounders for him, you guys are on crack.

It’s funny because it’s true

The imbecile doing the drafting has left the building.

Sooner or later we have to stop being gun shy of the draft because our last list manager was hopeless at their job. Back the new blokes to pick some quality.
He had a ripping period last year and with Tassie not guaranteed we could have 2-3 years of picking the eyes out of the draft and building for long term success

Kako, Caddy still have high potential
Tsatas
Hobbs
Reid
Perkins

Then

Cox
McGrath
Francis
Parish

The odds would be on the 6.

If you pick and chose 6 former first round players for Reid, that’s easy.

Setterfield
Hobbs
Cox
Wright
Laverde
Shiel - equivalent of, if can’t choose him then Gresham, McKay or Parish

I was apprehensive about picking Reid, but you’ve bloody convinced me. I’m not even being a ā– ā– ā– ā–  now, I would do that deal in a heartbeat

He’s a bit slow is old Tommy.

ā€œIf the season finished nowā€¦ā€

But it doesn’t finish now, so there’s no way of proving if he’s correct. Just more wank from Tom Morris

Not surprising Brisbane have been after him since last year way before Hawks came to the party

AFL media reporting the eagles have made their offers to keep Harley.

Be good to hear them leaked. Cmon ITK internet.

Twomey already talking about them himself.

The three-year offer from the Eagles would take him through to the end of 2029, when Reid would be at the end of his sixth season, while the five-year extension would tie him to the end of 2031, when Reid would be reaching the end of his eighth season and becoming a free agent. The deals are expected to be worth around $1.6-1.8 million a season.

The Eagles are also open to longer than a five-year term, which would likely see Reid’s worth be on the cusp of $2 million a season.

Allen leaving for Brisbane or the Hawks, is going to make Harley the richest man in football before he has actually achieved anything.

Feels like paying a legal graduate with first class honours partner money.
