Really love Rowell as a player and am all for bringing in elite young talent but what would the plan be here?
Give up our two firsts to get him, ok, Shiel is gone & you’d definitely be trading Hobbs at this point.
Setterfield/Perkins fall further down the midfield order, so even if we move Merrett to a HB the main mix would be something like:
Rowell, Parish, Caldwell, Durham & Tsatas.
Idk. It feels like the first 3 are pretty similar. Can we get Noah Anderson instead…?

Not enough class in that midfield mix.
3 guys that cannot kick it all that well.
I’d move Parish on if we got Rowell.
Offer our 1st Rounder + the Pick we get for Parish (mid teens?).
Keep Melbourne’s 1st.

Yeah it’d have to be something like that, otherwise I just don’t see that mix working.
Draper is in career best nick at the moment.
Could be more important to us than a first round pick??

That’s a dumb idea. He’s a competent ruck, has a big cult following among young supporters and is committed to Essendon.
Just because the crows want him doesn’t mean he wants them.
We should let Zac Merritt go so that he has a chance at success with another club because we are going nowhere with Scott as a coach.
If this year is a total disaster and we finish bottom 4, I’d let him walk. Bank the FA compo pick.

Even Caldwell and Durham, they are decent kicks, but no coach is worried that they’ll be super harmful by foot. They can hit 50m bullets but they don’t have the touch like a Merrett or Martin.
Which brings me to my actual point: you could swap one of the players on that list for Martin and it’d be a lot more balanced.

Yep.
In the now closed thread, I posted yesterday that LDU should be the player in place of Parish in that List of 5.
However, I can see Martin filling that class void in the middle.

Trade talk now, come on folks. All clubs are talking to all the players. It is a serious waste of time spending 1 minute on it. Orgs like SEN keep pumping it up as the ratings during trade period go through the roof and they try to extract every last bit out of it.
