Eagles: 3,21,(Worpel Compo pick), F1
Hawthorn: Reid, 54
If Reid nominates Geelong yes.
When has a player nominated one club and gone to another?
From memory more than a few clubs were into Cameron and probably could have offered more if he wanted to go there.
The JHF deal probably gives a basic framework, though youâd expect Harley will possibly cost a little more.
Simply no.
Reid can nominate who he likes.
If the deal sucks, and it does in that case, then they go again next year.
When heâll probably be playing better.
Except West Coast will hold the number one and likely number 2 picks.
Again, youâre saying WC are trading Reid for one first and two seconds?
I meanâŚawesome if true, because we can do that Now.
In fact it might benefit us to do so!
Cameron was a free agent that GWS threatened to match and he only wanted Geelong due to âlocal tiesâ.
He was going either way so but the trade offer from Geelong ended up being better than the compo GWS would have got, thatâs why the deal got done.
They are not the same thing, the circumstances are completely different. JHF is the closest comparison in terms of a deal. I reckon Reid will demand more though.
I do think if he nominates a club they will find a way to appease WC.
If its Geelong
11, F1(26), F1 (27), Neale
If anyone is paying Oscar Allen whatâs required to translate to a band 1 compo pick they need punching. Heâs looked COOKED for a couple of years now.
If they did get that though then they canât get a decent priority pick for sucking.
You know f1 is a future first right?
That deal looks about right, though Hawks likely wonât have 3
Not seeing a lot of 3, 5.

Again, youâre saying WC are trading Reid for one first and two seconds?

Thats 2 firsts and 1 second plus where worpel falls possibly end of first round compo or second round? If Blues finish low, it will help, ie if they have 3 at the end of the year, rather than 9.
Thread is instructive on the lengths other clubs have to go.

Cameron was a free agent that GWS threatened to match and he only wanted Geelong due to âlocal tiesâ.
He was going either way so but the trade offer from Geelong ended up being better than the compo GWS would have got, thatâs why the deal got done.
They are not the same thing. JHF is the closest comparison.
Only that he is a higher calibre player at the time and went for 3 late firsts to Geelong when they were going well.
A RFA they could have matched(ie no salary cap concern) is the same as holding a player to contract.
North got the deal for JHF because GWS wanted pick 1 badly.
West Coast will have two picks in the top 4. Likely 1 and 2.
They will be after multiple mid range firsts to get a lot of the WA talent in the pool imho at a minimum.
As I said, itâs too early to know as the academy points are the great unknown and until that becomes clearer itâs hard to tell but hypothetically one of the Northern clubs might require points and the Hawks could somehow flip that.
Gold Coast is the one that everyone will be trying to hit up, they currently have 7,13,16 so hypothetically if say the Hawks got a pick in the high 20âs or early 30âs for Worpel they could send that plus pick 21 to the Suns for their pick 13 and all of a sudden the Hawks have 3 & 13 which still isnât enough for Reid but they could maybe rework it so they get pick 7 off the Suns.
A lot to play out yet
I reckon if required Hawks and Cats might put any of the following on the trade table to assist in a Reid trade:
Hawks: Worpel (FA), Lewis, Jiath, Maginness, Reeves, Blanck, Ramsden
Cats: Stengle, Knevitt, Edwards (WA),
Iâm not sure many players in the system want to play for west coast.
Their best bet is to load up on local talent at the draft. And this draft is strong for that

which still isnât enough for Reid
Finally some sense.
Another question.
Does anyone here genuinely think Reidâs value wonât go up in the next twelve months?

Only that he is a higher calibre player at the time and went for 3 late firsts to Geelong when they were going well.
A RFA they could have matched(ie no salary cap concern) is the same as holding a player to contract.
But this doesnât impact the value of Reid as a high end talent seeking a trade while contracted.
Those circumstance impacted Cameronâs then value, particularly relative to the compo pick GWS would have got which lead to the threat to match.
It has absolutely no bearing on Reidâs value, which is entirely determined by WC.
If Reid requested a trade to Cats, and they offered the Cameron trade value, WC would laugh at them.
Richmond have multiple firsts.
We have multiple firsts.
Gold Coast have academy talent - would depend what range that falls into and if thereâs enough points for them to trade out and back
But they might trade up if they want to get ahead of a bid for another talent if only ones worth it come draft time?
