Trade talk - from October 2024 (Part 7)

Wouldn’t mind getting Archer Reid.

Far from sold on Harley Reid.

Not worth 2 first round picks on what he’s dishing up

The circle jerk surrounding Harley Reid is stupid af. I’m sure he has some talent, but he’s massively overrated. On current form, he doesn’t warrant selling a ■■■■ tonne of picks away for.

Means that we can get him with one pick instead sign me up

At this point it would be worth doing just to ■■■■ off the anti-harley crowd.

Seriously though, whatever route this club takes, nobody could possibly have any confidence in them to get it right at this point.

Reid is an AFL tank away from being a top 10 player in the comp. Worth the hype.

How do you measure that?

Exactly. People don’t know ■■■■.

Kid is an absolute gun. Definitely less fit this season than last. He’s tanking well. Keep going Harley. Maybe get embroiled in a drug scandal too please…really tank that value

How much would Archer Reid and George Wardlaw cost to bring over? I’d love them both in the red and black.

Reid has 2 more years on his contract and Wardlaw still has one, so both at least a mid-high first IMO

Wardlaw maybe a bit more gettable because of injury history and norf are forever putrid, but WCE won’t let Reid walk especially with Allen probably going

you need to do both I reckon. gone are the days of fully just going to the draft and sitting around and hoping players turn into decent setup together.

The biggest flaw when doing the draft only and main source of talent (north prime example) is you end up drafting a ■■■■ ton of mids, because mids are generally always going to be high up there due to simply getting the ball more.

HBF is a gapping hole at present. Bergman will be 24 in 6 months, so he’s still young enough to be in the same bracket as the top end of the younger guys coming through.
I’d have preferred one of the milera boys, as we need a classy disposer of the ball down back, who can defend.

I think now a days you need to a right here right now plan, as well as a plan for 2 years, and a plan for 5 years.
nothing can be set to rigidly because so much can change in a short amount of time. Bryan the prime example, you can’t control all the variables, so you can’t rely on one plan that simply relies on people getting to a certain point or level in 3 years time.

I recon theres a chance whoever gets H Reid might not need to pay as much as once thought.

He has looked pretty average so far this year.

2 firsts at the absolute most I would think, if his form doesnt flip.

Came back after last year overweight and out of shape and still looks it.

Wardlaw would be good. but he is one dimensional. he has the hard at it competitiveness we need. but if we get him need to move one or two of our mids on. Shiel has mentioned his desire to play on as well.

At least Harley Reid can rest forward and is a slightly bigger body.

we also have Day-Wicks developing as fwd/inside mid in VFL and Zach Johnson as hb/inside mid.

Looked really chummy.
Almost like he was on the winning side …

smh

Let’s see how chummy he is with the Dawks after next week’s game. That might give us more of an idea.

Can we sign him this week

Cool, so we’ll just keep doing what we’ve been doing for 20 years?
