It’s all semantics.
We’re not competing for a top 4 spot for 5-6 years. Draper really doesnt make any difference to us in the long term.
It’s all about building that list for 5 years time.

I feel like the situation is this.
Drapes has a deal in front of him from Essendon.
He’s not vibing on the terms (money/years etc).
He’d love to stay at Essendon if they come to the table.
Essendon won’t budge.
Drapes gets a better deal elsewhere and takes it.
This it the best scenario for everyone.

Haha 5/6 years is VERY dramatic.
A team should realistically be able to win a flag and rebuild in that time.
