Trade talk - from October 2024 (Part 7)

I’m coming round to the idea of making Sean Murphy our Footy Ops Manager and ■■■■■■■ McPherson off…this is how you do it.

we will need to trade or bring in some mature age recruits. cant lose that much experience it will be a disaster.

Agree.

Surely this is the club pushing players out the door.

I just can’t accept that these seniors blokes that have continued to resign ok long contracts are willing to leave the cushy environment of Essendon to actually have to perform at another club.

These blokes have a too good a ride for too long. Good on Brad and the club for telling them to ■■■■ off

Murphy is like the Anti-Dodoro…he’s sacrificing his own reputation and career to unfuck dodoros mess.

We should erect a Sean Murphy bronze statue out the front of Windy Hill if these blokes leave.

Genius

I think I just Sam Cummings’d

Assuming this is true it’s much better for us as opposed to a standout No1 and average rest of the top 10 for obvious reasons

A recruiter from another club told me.

But, this club is notorious for not really picking much in the first round recently.

But when they do, they get it right.

Yeah I wasn’t disputing just going with the hypothetical. Good you’ve got mates at Geelong (?) tho to give inside sauce!! Or maybe not Geelong because they’re full to the brim with fraudulently obtained GCS first rounders

That would tip me over the edge.

The point is that our coaches can’t even maintain standards of rated players brought in, let alone getting young players we draft up to standard. Essendon is an elephants’ graveyard for players traded in.

You’d be getting him for standard setting and on-field coaching.

Please be true.

Why would that be an issue? If it gets us a better pick I’m absolutely open to it.

Nope.

hundred percent agree. if you have an opportunity to get rid of Parish, you get rid of him regardless of whether you have to pay some of the contract.
Same goes for any player you would like to remove from the list. who gives a rats ass if we have to pay some of the contract or not?
we keep hearing we’ve got heaps of cap space, so let’s use it to sort out our mess.

I really don’t want Draper to go.
That aside, people wanting him out are overlooking the fact that this will take away opportunities to get Free Agents.
We are desperate for on field leaders and these FA’s will be in the age bracket where we could benefit.
In addition, there is no guarantee we will get a First Rounders anyway for him.

Like who?

What free agents?

I don’t mind taking end of first round compo for him, though I suspect the club is carefully managing the scenario to massage it towards likely band 1.

I’d hate to lose Rids.
I think Draper’s importance was evident last night.

Parish meh. Tstatas meh. McGrath meh.

Reading between some lines, I think Ridley may well have an irreconcilable grievance with the club over his injury mamagement.

Could see why he might be looking elsewhere.
