No I just mean he’s showing what happens when he actually tries
What have you heard?
Nothing unfortunately. I’m thinking he’s staying next year at least. I’d give up all our picks for him though.
We aint getting a first for langford.
A top 4 team will be a pick in the 20’s - in a weak draft.
He’s kicked 51 and 43 goals.
You wouldn’t take anything less for a contracted player.
That’s the beauty, you don’t have to trade him
That’s not the Essendon Way! Our De-Development team got 2MP missing set shots but it took them a couple of years.
Because they get top dollar for minimal (AFL standard) effort. Plus they get to beat the rush to Ibeza.
No chance Geelong would be interested in getting Langford. Tell 'im he’s dreaming.
Harley on fire tonight, in a belting
Maybe, maybe not.
Dangerfield 35. If they fall short this year they might want another mid sized forward.
Dempsey playing on the wing.
It was just an example
What happened to all the ITKs who said he was coming to us? They’re very quiet. I’d love him at Essendon but just a pipe dream
I’m not sure he knows what he’s doing
They will want a better player than him. And if they want one, they will get one, knowing how they roll. And how the AFL accomodates them.
I think you’re focusing too much on 2026. Write it off. Whether we have a player exodus or a host of players with compromised preseasons, 2026 shouldn’t be the focus.
And Bryan out performed Draper in hit outs to advantage this year.
Anyone heard any slight chance Harley is a chance to come to us? Pls !!
Scott said in an abc interview that they haven’t heard anything from Reid’s management that he is looking to move.
I don’t agree that 2026 is a write off. I do think we won’t be playing in September, but, we need to heavily focus on our structures and game plan.
For the first time in a while, I watched a bit of non-Essendon footy yesterday because I wanted Norf & Richmond to win and Melbourne to lose to help our draft positions.
Other than the atrocious umpiring at times, I’m glad I did.
In all 3 of those games teams had some semblance of structure, footy smarts and team cohesion. Players ran to dangerous positions, forwards lead to the ball, defenders kicked the ball forward, midfielders tried to create space in the middle of the ground, players kicked the ball off the ground or tapped it on to advantage & clear congestion or gain ground in the wet. We don’t do these, if we do, certainly not enough. These are the types of things I’m looking forward to happening next year.
With a good draft/recruiting, “luck” with keeping players on the ground and a change in some of our coaching, I’m hoping next year is our platform to looking for success in 2027.
Zak Merrett certainly hasn’t lost faith in the club.
So why would we let him go if he’s so good?
Age demographic. We wouldn’t be recruiting someone Langford age so letting him go shouldn’t bother us too much either
