All unrestricted free agents and all would be upgrades and fill in age and leadership gaps for us with Ridley, Merrett and even Hayes not there next year.

Our backline especially lacks any sort of maturity

Has a multi-year deal in front of him from the Crows iirc, but will continue to be in and out of the side. I think he’s a genuine chance to move.

We have that much money and are losing two of our highest salaries on the books.

Surely we can pay him to ruin his career

Pies the favorite for Lachie Neale according to Tom Morris is looking for more on field success.

I don’t think he’ll get it at the Pies thier flag window is shut and will have a stack of 30 year olds depart in the next year or two

Hasn’t missed a game in 12 years, we will break him within minutes.

My grapevine told me on the weekend that we’re looking at Buku Khamis (UFA)…and that was before the Hayes injury.

So this is Cal’s estimate of a potential draft hand we could have at the end of season with a Merrett & Ridley trade, and an assistance package pick.

Sorry if it’s the wrong thread but is anyone able to post this please?

pies can stil challenge finals.

Neale reinvigorates that midfield
all old blokes play on. Maybe Sidebottom retires.
Pies probably chase Butts from Crows to shore up defence.
Maybe take Zac Williams from Blues as a free agent and gets a few more years out of him, he has tatts so will fit in.
Would have an offer in front of Toby Greene as well.
Greene, Neale, Williams, Butts covers a few cracks. It does take them to a bigger cliff.

Key keep all draft picks and head to the draft. pickup free agents so can compete now.

I would be worried that if Hird does come in, holding onto Merrett further delays the turbocharging we could get from moving him on.

I would hope that any coach including Hird was told that Merrett, Parish and Ridley at a minimum will be traded as a non negotiable to get the job but then again I suspect it’s probably the club more than the coach that will try to hold on to them all

Could we try and get Patrick Cripps?

Brownlow medalist he’s a better leader then Merret

Hopefully there would be some trading up from there…? We need more from the point of the pointy end… I can’t get excited about 5 picks in the 16-25 range with our history..

Not sure there’s a market for Parish, regardless of how much we pay of his contract

Depending on what Neale does, I could see Parish being a good fit for Pies or Crows, as they lack a pure clearance winner and have the runners and users on the outside.

I know Pies have been interested in Parish in recent years.

We really need another pick inside the top #10.

There is optimism, over optimism and then there is this.

Got told Cats are in the front line for Wilson
