Who really cares. Last week other posters were complaining of not hearing from Vozzo. Can’t win sometimes. Rosa can have a morning off.
Fair enough, maybe though they might consider not trying to dislodge a contracted captain and promising him they’d get it done.
Ridiculous targets come at a ridiculous cost, you ridiculous ■■■■■.
Yeah but you took the flight to Florida, bought Mickey Mouse ears, queued up three hours to get into Disney, then decided the cost of admission was too much.
What was our “ridiculous request”? 3 x 1st round picks 25, 26, 27 and pick 22 this year?
This is true. What gets missed though is that they also used their second round pick from this year to get that pick 22. So in their minds, they’ve upgraded the original future second into an end of first round and brought it forward from next year to this (while also sliding back 1 pick on the other first rounder).
Now from our point of view that’s less valuable. We already have too many picks this year and we have lots in the 20s range. Clearly they didn’t consider at all what our preference would be. I can see the twisted logic in what they did to “improve” the offer though.
Did any other team approach us for any other player?
I want to trade back pick 6 to 9 and 11 from carlton. Just to screw with Hawthorn a bit more.
You admit we played kids due to necessity. And even then we played guys like Menzie in the last rounds when he’d already been informed he’d be delisted over kids like Johnson.
We beat WCE and North by less than a goal each, which means our first pick in this draft will be later than it should. Our first pick won’t even be top 5. And Collingwood wasn’t in a rebuild because they finished 17th in 2021 as a once-off, or GWS finishing 16th in 2022.
We might be trying to build a strong culture. So strong that multiple players considered leaving, our captain tried to leave, Draper did, and multiple young kids got passed over and are meant to be considering their options.
I mean, are you honestly trying to argue we’re rebuilding because we finished low and played some extra kids this year rather than having a spate of injuries cause it???
Hawks players having a sook on socials about it all - my goodness, they’re entitled.
To me, if you have a line with full gutting rebuild at one end and top up for a premiership tilt at the other, our behaviour over the last 5 years is smack dab in the “do nothing unusual” middle. Averaged out across that time, we’ve taken our draft picks, done some role player cheap trades, grabbed a few free agents, and generally soldiered on. We’ve been doing it from a pretty ■■■■ foundation, so it’s been happening in the bottom half of the ladder, but it’s been very middle of the road list management.
He was on trade radio with Cal and Riley.
It’s a final day wrap up.
Also said he was surprised how late Haw came with their bid and with their stupid deadline.
Said we really wanted mature players, all they offered was Henry
Of course they did. Because they’re not in a rebuild.

Love it! I love the new ‘Gloves are Off’ approach - time we started to stand up and not get bullied.
Hopefully he is more open to a move elsewhere, like Oliver, Petracca were.
We make him do it - its either that, or tow the party line……until you’re out of contract.
I reckon there’d be teams queuing up for him (depending on his attitude next year and performance)
I’m all for acknowledging and forgiving Zack back - after all he’s going to go down as one of our greatest ever players. With the greatest of respect, I’ll also say this - As a leader of the club where he’s spent most of his career and has been anointed skipper. He’s broken trust, irrelevant of what people say in terms of today’s sport being open and commercial (there is a way to do this - if he wanted out, as a captain with a team largely made of impressionable youngsters, he should’ve consulted the LT and senior players and aired his desire and worked through those channels rather than getting dodgy advise from the wrong people (Tom P & of course S Mitchell - who is an absolute snake and seems to be on a mission to disrupt many athletes without considering the human impact and cost…..the karma bus is currently charging and should take off soon mate)
What I’m hoping happens (if the Karma bus gathers momentum and we keep our powerbrokers from intervening and let the elected people do their jobs)
-
We put in massive effort into due diligence and recruit smartly focusing more on Footy IQ and skills rather than purely on athletic capabilities
-
Zack is accepted back to the club (and kept in the leadership group - but taken out of captaincy - as its just untenable to have him as the main leader anymore) and take out emotional investment in him and treat him as a commercial commodity and start making backup plans (which includes dealing straight with his management in terms of his exit strategy if he wants to do so - which needs to be beneficial to the club like multiple clubs option rather than a single club)
-
We manage to wrestle back the injury list and get some continuity into our key players (especially Ridley, Z Reid, Parish and second half (Martin/ Bryan)
-
We implement a sustainable and identifiable brand that will stand up in finals & reflect current footy standards and blood youth at every chance whilst remaining as competitive as possible.
-
We start investing time on a strategy to bring in elite talent next year (eg: Butters/ Harley Reid)…this will either entice Zack and others to stay or they’d be replacing Zack -either way its a win-win.
-
We hope like hell (of course put solid effort into development / capability….etc) that the middle tier (Cox/ Perkins / Tsatas / Hobbs) take the next step and become at least serviceable footballers and role players.
-
Finally, this is my sincere hope - the p%#ks in Who*ethorn implode and crash with everything (onfield and offfield) burning to the ground and get hit hard by the Karma bus!
Just wanted to have a rant and get it out of my system - apologies folks!
Go Bombers!

I’d like to see them all traded to Tasmania and WC with two-years left on each of their contracts.
shame we dont got some extra first round picks to do it with
Hopefully he is more open to a move elsewhere, like Oliver, Petracca were.
Oliver got traded for a future 3rd round pick and melbourne are paying half his salary. I think if we wanted to get a deal like that done for Merrett, we could have done it.
Vozzo saying we are actively looking at ways to move up the draft
Of course we are. because we now have more picks than we do list spots because we refuse to trade out players.

I am thinking there was no demand for our spuds.
No idea where the Collingwood and GWS reference relates too.
In terns of players wanting out, I assume you mean apart from ridley? Maybe go back and check out his Trade “request”
And we have a top 5 pick, we would have 2 if the AFL didnt just corruptly give WCE another bullsht pick.
