Farking auto correct lols

Plenty would.

I’d hate to see what Port ask for though, it won’t be cheap

And we can’t afford to be giving away future picks, with the amount of bottom agers who are tied to us.

For a start, we’d need to bank a pick for Merrett ….. if he doesn’t screw us, and decide to stay.

Do you think it’s the Ken/Butters double?

I hope we don’t go Butters. It’ll simply be too costly.

Butters will be a free agent if he moves. To where he wants to go for what he wants to be paid.

And he would have rocks in his head to go anywhere bar a genuine finals contender.

He won’t be at Essendon.

The Doggies or Geelong.

He would be bonkers to come to Essendon.

Some of his current teammates are certain it’s the Dogs or he stays

Footscray make much much more sense.

They have the list and the guns in their midfield are the wrong side of 30 with great young key possie players.

He slots in there perfectly.

Arguably the cats don’t need him and certainly won’t pay him close to the same dollars.

We have more chance at Bailey - which is also slim to none as the Lions will get him over the line .(he would be a much better target for our list imho as much as I love the way butters plays)

Butters is the perfect libba replacement

Who wouldn’t want to play alongside Ed Richard’s?

They got one of the best Ruckmen in the comp to work with as well.

I mean no offence to our ruck outfit but it’s gone backwards for the time being.

Then there’s that very tall bloke they got in their forward line who still looks like the best player in the comp whenever he plays.

The dogs will need to find picks and probably lose players to afford Butters, i would start targeting some of their players and get in their ear first. If Weightman comes good, he would be a good fit for the fwd line

Most clubs will likely need to offload players to get Butters, given how compromised the 2027 draft is.

Port would reasonably argue Butters deserves a trade package as much as Petracca and Merrett. He’s out of contract, which matters, but is obviously much younger and is a better player than both of them

A core midfield group of Butters, Durham, and Caldwell would mean we can have a Parish type just focus on what he does well. It would balance out a lot better.

I think if he’s interested in coming across, he’s the sort of player you just pay the associated cost.

Honestly the deal port would want would just about wipe out our ability to bring in Bewick and a young gun this year and that’s not a trade I’d be willing to make

That’s not why Essendon or any other club would be interested in him.

He’s a free agent.

Similar to interest in Zac Bailey at Brisbane.
