So please, continue arguing that we’ve had enough draft picks.

We could finish bottom 5 or 6 in 2027 you telling me 4 years of draft picks is not enough?
Look at Hawthorns team. Their best side is made of 10 players from other clubs and rookies

You keep hitting the draft until you’ve built the foundations of the list around elite young players.
We have far too many holes on this list to get impatient, simply because we want success quickly.
You need a dose of reality, rather than pretending our list is fine.
It’s been 20 years, what’s 1-2 more years…. To make sure we do it right?

List building has changed using the draft only is not a viable option for clubs anymore they do both now
I think 3 or possibly 4 years of going to the draft is enough of a foundation to build on.
I don’t hate the thought of it. I just don’t believe it’s the golden ticket that some here preach.
Although, with Dodo gone, there is hope that we can use our picks well.

Exactly right, right now we need to focus on the draft. Get some high quality kids in and then next year or even the year after start to focus on free agents. Especially in 2027 as our draft hand will be going to Bewick.
In my opinion we need to do everything in our power to try and get one or both of Duursma and Robey.
Bring them in, both who have qualities to be A Grade elite talent through the door is a must.

I am starting to think we need a couple of players from successful teams. Mentors who lead and support these good kids we are bringing in.
Also assist kids to stay.
its never been about the top end picks, they are just bonuses. It’s always about the mid draft and extraordinary types that are brought in.
Logan Morris, Bruce Reville, Cal Ah Chee etc. those types
Yes, but what you refuse to recognise is that Dodoro butchered those drafts….. so last year we went back to stage 1 of the list build.
This is the price we pay for not sacking him sooner.
Next year, go as hard as you like at Free Agency. But we need to hit the next 2 drafts hard before Tasmania enter the equation.
And preferably with picks in the top 2.

Trade guys in this year, pay their salary & include their teams future picks. Sounds like a plan.
Where’s all this talk coming from that Freo are desperate to off-load Darcy and his salary? They were heavily into Kozzie before he re-signed at Melbourne and didn’t blink at the idea of fitting a $1m+ deal into their cap, and they’ve just had Fyfe retire which frees up even more.
Darcy himself has managed only 44 of the last 70 games and broken down in plenty of those.
I don’t see the appeal for us—big money, draft capital, and a body that hasn’t held up.

I wouldn’t be putting faith in Blakiston. We need some proper support to ensure we’re giving some form of reasonable service to the midfield so we can at least be a chance of executing a gameplan.
