So over his career Ridley has played
2018 3 games first year
2019 6 games
2020 17 games
2021 22 games
2022. 20 games
2023. 17 games
2024 9 games
2025. 10 games
Consideration the career games played of an average AFL player is 30 games.
I can’t really see how Connors could argue the club is neglecting a players fitness when if you take out 2018 and 19 season tally’s due to building up fitness. he is averaging 15.83 games a year, most AFL players would be happy with that as only a small percentage can continuously get through multiple seasons unscathed.
He gone yet?
He was also on the list in 2017 but played VFL all year.
Thats a very poor average amount of games per season. Trade please.

@DonAtBirth thank you.
Can’t see a world where they give up 2x firsts for him.
I would ask for 2026 first (straight up), also take 2x seconds.
I think our 2025 draft hand looks great, especially if we get band 1 for Draper. Ridley and other players who want to leave should be traded for future picks.
I’d look at something like F1st and 2027 2nd for Ridley, zoom out and start to build strong draft hands in the next 3 years.
If Brisbane win the flag they’ve got a shot at three in a row. Ain’t nobody leaving voluntarily then.
Hearing from a couple of good sources that Essendon has made Zak Butters a priority target and is prepared to offer a long-term contract worth north of $1.2M per season.
Word is the deal could stretch to 7 years, making it one of the biggest offers in club history. The Bombers see him as a game-changer for their midfield alongside Parish and Merrett.
Port are desperate to keep him, but with the Bombers’ cap space and the lure of Melbourne, this is one to watch closely.
Anyone else heard similar? This could be the biggest move of the trade period if it gets up.
With the ridley thing we should be creative offer a buckletload to Logan Morris to partner with caddy or say we want a first and fringe mid like sam Marshall
It would be very essendon to give up a opportunity to do a rebuild for one player
I can believe it’s not butter
Love Butters as a player but would very likely cost 2FRP and then some to get him over.
And there is just no way id see him coming over to us over the likes of Hawthorn and the Dogs
The only way that Butters would appeal in the hypothetical situation where he was insane and wanted to come to us would be if it were at the end of next season where he’d be a free agent.
Having said that… Port apparently have a crap load of spare cash so they’d probably match and force a trade.
