Trade talk - from September 2025 (Part 8)

Rebuild puritans are kinda like those white blokes on YouTube music video comments telling people ‘it’s not punk actually’

Probably not. But it shows that 5 older names in an incredibly young list doesn’t mean much in terms of the notion of “rebuild” .

We can already field a “rebuilding” -whatever that really means - round 1 team.

And Steele , I suspect, would only come in if Merrett , Setterfield and probably Hobbs depart.

There is zero chance of Brad going with that team in round 1. He will stack the team with as much experience as he can and the youth will get the remains

Setterfield is still on the list and we still have too many senior plodders

Probably. But I didn’t include Roberts, who will definitely play , Tsatas who actually was in the early plans, Edwards who debuted early etc. The lineup will be inexperienced by default.

That team will get belted by 100 pints every week

I’ve been in a few 100 pint Guinness clubs around Victoria. There are worse ways to spend time.

Yep. He is hanging on by the fingernails and will be busting to win games with senior spuds who have let us down for years.

Our team would never lose a pub session, party club

We already have Angus Clarke. Remember his debut game? He then had to play defence due to our injuries. No way should we be giving 4 year contract to this guy.

I’m not as sold on Clarke as others. Good attitude and that but his disposal by foot is a worry to say the least. He just hoofs it and hopes for the best

Depending on price I think Fiorini is a good pick up. Even better if it means we can throw Gresham to the curb

The only concern is if he has been offered a wing role, and Duursma has the other one, where does that leave Angus Clark?

And what about Jones, whatever will happen to him, Brad won’t be able to sleep if his sweet prince is without home

Yeah and did sfa for the remainder of the season. The kid was bloody cooked by the end of the season surprised he didn’t cop an injury

Nino loves his sugar

No i don’t want our younger players to be burnt out and injured because they have to carry the team all year.

At least our captain gets some interest. We’re not Norf yet.

Maybe the marketing genius’s at Essendon will have a player in black-face!

There’s no way they can get Curnow without giving up one of those other players, especially when they’re trading for Marshall as well
