Trade talk - Tobe or not To Be (Part 11)

I was more hoping for a preseason win in a close one against StKilda.

(Am I remembering that correctly?)

Coleman and Stringer. Spike and Horse will set the standard.

60 goals. Yep I like. Good for the young blokes. And a bit of angry retribution. Bring.

We’re not getting Jake ■■■■■■■ Stringer are we? We just got rid of him for culture reasons!!

We really need to get that port Adelaide pick 5. If that means we promise not to bid on Dougie at 1. So be it.

What do we think will be needed?

100% and we have two levers to pull

One being a trade that involves not bidding on Dougie and the other just outbidding Richmond

In my mind I would do this trade to capitalise on getting Butler or Tex

Out - 17, 27, F127

In - 5, F127(Melbourne)

It gives port a great hand this year and next but also somewhat protects us having two first rounders (albeit could be late teens early 20s) with geelong and dees future first but atleast it’s something to use as a base to get Bewick in the door which should be our only priority next year.

It also lets get two top end talents this year, do it Rosa

Our F1 at a minimum. They want low future picks for their academy kids. The already have enough for Dougie this year

Haven’t we already told Port that we’re bidding on though?

Yeah, GWS are asking for two second rounders, so there’s a bit to play out.

Not entirely sure why you chose me of everyone to reply to, I was the one saying I wouldn’t do it.

The downside being if he gets fit and plays out the year, he may well choose to stay.
Not that I’d give a first for him currently.

LID OFF

I don’t see a world where Port gives us anything extra back.
They know pick 5 is a premium and will absolutely fleece whoever wants it

Because our offer is better than Richmond’s if we’re offering an earlier pick this year and likely next year and can pass on Dougie.

Ports pick may trade later post trade week when player movement is done.

I’d have thought what happens with Norths pick is more interesting seeing as the cost for Blakey will be multiple picks in the first round.

The point remains

Bryan is meh. … very meh.

This is a compelling post. Thank you for the insight.

I doubt port trade the pick until the draft comes around. No hurry for them
