Trade Targets

Any love out there for Mason Wood. Some word from barely literate journalists that he may be open to exploring his options as finding it hard to get a gig behind the aging forward line at the Roos?

Absolutely. Is a very good player. Way too good for the level below and looked pretty good this year at AFL level prior to getting knocked out against us. He’d be a really valuable 3rd tall forward similar to the Crameri type role. Could even just play as a high half forward/mid type.

Pick 19 + Howlett still might not get the Neale deal done. The kid is a gun.

:expressionless:

No chance that gets the deal done. Howlett has next to zero trade value and Neale is worth a top5 pick.

Neal is worth the number 1 pre season draft pick. ■■■■ freo and Carlton.

I think you're alright sameolds, don't be so hard on yourself.

Thank god there’s not an I agree button.

When did freo win a game?

Against us next week

I’d guess that the AFL will remove the PSD this year preventing us from using that as leverage in any trade negotiation.

Reality is with the Psd even if we don’t finish bottom we will still have leverage because we will be the lowest finishing Vic team so essentially if we are trying to snare a Victorian uncontracted kid who wants to come home we are still in the box seat regardless if Freo or Bris finish lower than us.

For instance, Prestia through the PSD would be gold but at the very least we would hold the whip hand in negotiations with the Suns if he wanted to come to us. Pleasingly it would also infuriate GC who already hate us.

Agree. However, that means we would have to give up something good. It’d be even better if we could get the number 1 pick (or 2/3 if it ends up being that) and get a quality player through the PSD.

with the possiblity of adding Kelly, Dea, Heppell, to add to our books.
I Don’t want to trade in too many players, O’Meara, Patton should do.
GWS are taking the ■■■■ playing Patton CHB last week. They don’t need him with Cameron & Lobb.

Would be great if we could get one via PSD. Would love to ■■■■ off gold coast more, although if we could get patton off GWS via PSD it would be good for evening up the competition.

As helpful and whole hearted as Kelly has been for us this year, our recruiting and list management team should sack themselves on the spot if they go down that path.

With where we are at we should be using that spot for either a kid who has a future ahead of him or to bring across someone from another club in the 21-26 year old age bracket. Dea I can somewhat understand.

No more retirement home pensioner recruits please.

Rob Kerr has made no secret of the fact they we are on the look out for snaring a good player b/w 22-25 yrs old from a rival club as part of the strategy moving forward

Allblack - he is in our sights, yes.

Wouldn’t every club have that as a strategy and shouldn’t that have been our strategy for the last 10 years?

Teams that are on the cusp of a flag have every right to improve their depth of quality for the ‘here and now’ by getting your Stevie J, Brian Lake, Jarrad Waite type guys for a couple of years but it doesn’t serve a huge purpose for teams who are a few years away from building a squad capable of contending for a flag.

Would think even the teams going for the flag would still try and snare a good player in 24 age range knowing he is on the brink of peaking.

But as for the second part, why hasn’t this been our state ray for the last 10 years?
