I’d go out on a limb & say ‘flag’. We are two A-grade mids (minimum) from a tilt.
Still need a solid game plan in order to make a big tilt at it. Talent alone can’t win you a flag (GWS).

I came looking for a thread that answered the question I’ve been asking all year: “When we don’t have an inside mid and Anthony Miles is dominating in the VFL, is someone at Essendon putting 2 + 2 together?”
He is consistent, he is out of contract and he should be cheap. Low risk, high reward. Fills a hole for 5 years while others develop.

If Miles plays well, he might lift us about 1 position on the ladder…ie. he’s not good enough.

Still need to ask the question regarding Gaff as a free agent, but I think our first two picks should be used on best available talent. Then go the mature aged route with our following 2 picks.
Plus a fit Daniher and Gleeson will be like 2 new recruits in 2019 as well

Have never said you need to be big to be a good midfielder - show me where - just that WE are short on bigger midfielders and bigger midfielders tend to be better at contested ball, and that’s what we need. Hardly going out on a limb saying either of those things. Have banged on about it, sure, that’s what forums are for, to discuss things with other posters who are semi-literate.
