Tragedy in Tassie - flying bouncy castle kills kids

Gee that would feel weird receiving money after kid died, understand if goes towards medical costs rehab etc for kids in intensive care, but generally that would be free in public health system.

I generally don’t trust these online fundraisers, given the number of times you hear about scammers setting them up.

But some have been set by family members now too that some names have been released.

Lawsuits don’t replace the centre of your life.

I have been able to read this thread but not any of the articles linked. Way too upsetting.

If (and that’s a big if) the castle wasn’t properly secured, criminal negligence charges will almost certainly result in jail time.

3 kids critical in Hobart
1 is recovering at home, which is good.

office talk at work said heard some of the kids injured were in zorb balls as well. (think there were more people injured than the critical ones listed, may have been minor though).
And apparently wind was like a mini tornado.
They had to act quick and catch the balls before lifted off again.
school has offered mental health support.

Yep - freak gust.

In case it is too distressing, just ignore the blur (pictures of the children):

Tasmania Police have released the names of the victims: Addison Stewart (11), Zane Mellor (12), Jye Sheehan (12), Jalailah Jayne-Maree Jones (12) and Peter Dodt (12).

Rest in eternal peace beautiful souls.

You should not post it at all.

The Age are scum.

How the fek does a jumping castle luanch in the air by wind? the jumping castle must have not been tied down properly,

bloody sad my heart goes out

They may be, but I posted from the ABC

And a few of us want to know these young people and remember them. But I blurred it for those who find it too disturbing. BTW they are just profile pics posted of the young people, not the shots at the time of the accident.

tbf unless you don’t view any social media or news for the next week it’s likely you’ll run into their faces at some point anyway.

The ABC are scum.

I have known that for a long time.

If I could take some of the grief from these families I would. Beyond heartbreaking.
