Training 21/1/19

Even working on the 2nd oval, he is looking impressive. Agile, very strong, fast, good in the air, great kick. He may surprise.

There were clues that Ham was good. But he is one year overage. So he needs to be compared with Zerk, Mynott and Houlahan. Is he ahead of their curve?

They say bad things come in threes. Who now? :flushed:

I see your point, but that’s incorrect. He hasn’t been a full time footballer in a professional set up.

What you’re suggesting would be like comparing Jok to Parish et al.

Whats this giant d*ckhead talking about? I bet he says Cale Hooker

Another injury scare he says…flog

Someone probably got knocked over in a drill and a trainer went to see if was ok

Just saw a clip think it’s Hurley?yep did rewind it’s Hurls but not sure how bad or serious, he seems to be clutching his left leg

Timmy just did the lead in teaser, and it looked like someone has gone down in a drill. No names mentioned, just ‘more details to come, later in sport’.

Ok that’s it. No more training.

It’s Hurley

I think Setterfield is favourite for the rising star and he’s coming straight off an ACL. Not that any of that means anything.

Not enough Smack in that group for mine. But still a good diverse group of options.

Not sure about playing Lav & Stringer in the same Fwd line either. Not sure why, but I can’t see it that’s all

So is Hurls ok? Has anybody seen the scoop?

Great stability. Can see the power of the D800 a lovely camera. I also shoot with one!

Can really see the VR working on the lease to reduce the vibrations and make em sharp!

Do you also use a tripod or monopod?

Lots of light makes it easier if course and today was a ripper day.

If Stewart is providing a physical presence, marking, kicking goals and being a lot more mobile than Stringer, and Smack is providing a strong focal point, marking, kicking goals, and providing ruck relief and Joe is benefitting from both these things happening, and playing well himself; we are back to our 2017 talls structure pre Stringer, except an improved version that allows Hooker to play back and Stewart and Smack to genuinely take the pressure off Joe and no opposition having any chance of containing 3 genuinely tall and mobile options.

The three smaller options would be Raz and Walla definitely and a competition between Bags, Guelfi and maybe Mozzie (at some stage at least) for 3 dangerous smalls, who provide good pressure.

This would be a real dilemma for Stringer, requiring him to be better form than at least one of the three tall options, or to find the fitness and form to spend time midfield the majority of the game.

This is a fantasy scenario, but it could come to pass if Stewart and Smack engage their beast mode consistently and Joe to get back to being 2017 Joe.

If everything clicks and we get both a strong midfield and forward line who run both ways with these players in form (and not forgetting our backline: Francis, Hooker, Hurley, Saad, McKenna and maybe Gleeson/Guelfi/Ridley/Redman) …

There is no lid.
