Dempsey has hardly played more than 3 games in his entire career where he was in the best few players on the ground.

Errrr…

Name them

Pretty much most of 2009, 2010 and 2013 he was awesome. You're very welcome.

Why does he need to be in the best 3? Best 18 can still mean he’s playing his role.

Pretty sure last year Dempsey had a minor hamstring injury in pre-season and apparently drank alcohol while out one night, which is against team rules for recovery, but probably makes f-all difference to your actual recovery.

The leadership group gave him a couple of extra weeks off since he’d broken team rules the previous year (or the year before) by being out past curfew (not even drinking that time).

So now Dempsey has a well known poor attitude to training?

I thought people were just joking about it so I’ve been taking the ■■■■ a bit in this and a couple of other threads, but if people seriously think he’s got an attitude problem and that he thinks he can take it easy and still get a game, you’ve got NFI.

Pevster goes Fevster.

I've never heard a filth supporter whinging about Dane Swan's weight.

I have. Last year (or was it the year before?) where he started terribly, and was carrying a bit.
His form picked up. And he’s got more credits in the bank than Demps (let alone Kommer)

People are missing the point with Dempsey. The point is not whether he is fat or not, the point is he is a player with elite potential but an amateur approach to conditioning. He has had many, many opportunities to develop a tank workable enough to play in a position that exploits his natural speed and skill. But every single preseason he comes back in a worse condition than when he left. As a result, he has been played as a defender (even though he is useless defensively) and still has no motor in which to play off a wing. This, when the trend of the game has made the unaccountable running defender almost extinct (with the trend being for Brodie Smith, Grant Birchall types who can beat their player one-on-one and then run off them).

Dempsey has hardly played more than 3 games in his entire career where he was in the best few players on the ground. Coming off a year where we punished Dempsey for turning up unfit and squandered 3rd quarter leads partly due to players like Dempsey that cannot be trusted to run out an entire game, the time has come to prevent Dempsey from playing seniors on talent alone. He should be made to fight on the track for his position in the team. Jobe, who so easily could have gone the Dempsey path addressed his lack of fitness in the most emphatic fashion.

Bring on Gleeson, Browne, Gwilt and whoever else clearly wants it more than Dempsey.

But he did that cool back heel
It was epic, get with the times.

So is it being implied that Kommer who seemed to display a relentless on-field attitude is lazy in his recovery?

Not nessasarily, it’s just being implied that his attitude to recovery could be the same as Dempseys which people are assuming is ■■■■■.

What is actually happening in regards to Dempsey is people are politely being told to “shut the ■■■■ up you don’t know what you are talking about”

Agree

I like Dempsey. He’s just being un-lucky with his hammies. And I think he is okay defensively. Key player if we are to make finals next year.

Everyone should earn their spot in the team.

Dempsey appears to be training well.

Go Dempsey!

If Nick Kommer was Dempsey, half of blitz would want him traded or delisted.

In the case of a trade, that’s exactly right because Dempsey has currency, Kommer does not being injured for the last 18 months.
