Kommer LTI list, upgrade MCKENNA.

Give Conor a craic in the AFL already?

Yes, even with the obligatory layer of well honed medical PR jargon - that sounds bad for Nick.

Kommer sounds fkd

Not nice. Bad news. Just as well we have some depth these days.

They better hurry up and start getting some miles into Carlisle’s legs then if they want him to start in round 1.

Can’t see him building on last year with only half a pre-season, if that.

Good to see the club issue a full medical update which will relieve a lot of our concerns.

ESSENDON is taking a cautious approach with big man Jake Carlisle as the club manages the star swingman’s sore knee throughout the pre-season.

The Bombers key-position star is back running but doctor Bruce Reid said the club wouldn’t be asking Carlisle to do too much too soon, hopeful of having him primed for the 2015 season and wary his patella tendonitis could return if he overdoes it on the track.

“Jake had an acute flare-up just before we resumed in mid November,” Reid told the Bombers website.

“He sort of got out there but (was) not right, so we went back to square one pre-Christmas.

“He’s progressing now and he’s been out there running today and so far, so good.

“But he’s so important, we want that patella tendon right … if you rush them, you get bitten and we don’t want to get bitten.

“We want him really ready to go in mid-February, March.”

Reid gave a rundown of the club’s injuries on Monday after James Hird’s men last week returned to the training track.

While Carlisle and Heath Hocking (groin) are the biggest names on modified programs, Reid said long-term knee victim Nick Kommer was the “most concerning injury”.

“Nick Kommer’s been probably our biggest disappointment,” he said.

“He had patella tendonitis and significant damage to the cartilage surface under his knee cap.

“He had surgery on both, the patella tendon is good but he still has ongoing symptoms under his knee cap … he’s still not totally pain-free, so after having a disastrous year (in 2014) we’re going to take our time.

“At the moment I wouldn’t expect him back in the full group, full training before March.”

As reported last month, Hocking has had surgery in a bid to fix his groin/adductor issue.

While initially thought to be a six to seven week lay-off, his recovery will take longer.

“He’s still not going to be back in full training until mid February, maybe the end of February,” Reid said.

In better news for Essendon fans, Reid said ruckman/forward Tom Bellchambers had been “terrific” after never reaching more than 85 per cent full fitness last year, while recruit Jon Giles is also fine after a minor hamstring strain late last year.

According to Dr. Bruce Reid, Kommer won’t resume full training till March so probs won’t make it for rd 1. Carlisle has similar injury but apparently the club managed it from the start so he’ll be right for rd 1.

Footballers are people too

Kommer done? Love the shaggy guy, but this foot looks like it's taking longer than expected.. is this his final year in the contract?

Doc R. say its his knee… so its probably his foot. Nah… you have to believe what Doc Reid says.

I’m an interstater so don’t attend training, but it does sound like a lot f people are over-reacting about Dempsey.
Many of the regular training watchers don’t seem to be too concerned. S Quoted Post

It was his foot initially.
But that’s fallen off now and the problem is now up to his knee

If Nick Kommer was Dempsey, half of blitz would want him traded or delisted.

what an odd thing to say…
