Whatever issue JD is dealing with it could be a blessing for preseason (assuming he right to go after xmas)

All the players learning to use Hooker as CHF focal point & he himself honing his fwd craft, plus Stewart also getting plenty of time playing fwd/ruck.

Given the way they all move for big guys (all very mobile) will be very interesting to see if at times we ever roll the 3 of them out in one game, with JD roaming far and wide Richo role esque it could work. Especially under the roof at Etihad.

No defence could cover 3 x 195cm+ fwds.

Woosh known to love a tall fwd line too.

Raz update Jackie? Am hearing that he has been training the house down and has set himself some decent targets this year. Sounds like he is starting to believe he belongs at that level. Obviously this has come from biased sources so interested to see if in fact his training reflects this

I was lucky enough to spend some time at the club yesterday and briefly speak to Raz. He looks in prime shape and his mentality definitely reflects this. He was still training at the club long into the arvo along with Eades, Hooker and Stanton. Saw him putting in the yards in the weights room on the way out.

Is there training today or tomorrow? I’ll he in Melbourne briefly for sister’s graduation

Thanks for that.
I’m pretty biased but he is the one I’m most excited about seeing in action next year

In my report I said he was prominent. Just needs to slow and steady a fraction when kicking for goal.

Geez how many on here from OPHS??

As for Male PE teachers- started out with Steve Taubert, moved to Curly Austin, and finished with John Conway. 78-83.
Steve used to get the boys down from EFC to do a footy clinic, and I remember having a scratch match with Neagle, Hawker, Taubert, Heard and a few others. Really top blokes.
As we were in the North zone then, if North sent down a “clinic” it was Slug Jordan and a fringe player, (I remember Alan Jarrot once). Fkn Povo’s…
Oh, and I’m pretty sure Jake Melksham’s dad was a couple of years below me, (David??)

Oak Park was in North zones, but it was one the edge of Essendon and Carlton. So when zoning was in, and I was in form 5 ( Year 11 to all the young), in the school Footy team we had two guys who played with North, One with Bombers and one with Carlton. Previous were some other Essendon players as well. The best schoolboy footballer I ever saw, played with Coburg in the VFA and could never get fit enough to make the jump to VFL. We did have a really good team, and I was mostly Captain of the seconds !!

Semper Vigilante

Hello all, first time long time! Love this place, and many thanks to those who provide the training reports. This time of year is all about predictions and optimism, so i’ll throw my hat into the ring. I solid source of mine who is close to the industry, non-Essendon supporter, rates our list highly, and in particular two recent acquisitions - Green and Stewart. Stewart is apparently a great kid with a lot of upside, just not given the development opps at GWS due to their abundance of big forwards. Green - very determined to make it, and was given very poor rehab advice at Bris. Rates the Dons’ medical depart highly. Both could be firmly in our best 22 - certainly exciting times.

I think he is very exciting also, and don’t think he earnt enough credits from outside the bomber community. He had a great year, as good as Parish’s, and he is already a exciting prospect. Just hope he stays long term.

How many excitements do we have?

How many excitement Essendon have?

Get with the program…
