Judging by the photos they are failing at both kayaking and canoeing

Doc Reid jumping off the cliff!

I can’t believe they chose to play at a ground with such a steep slope. Tippa can barely maintain his balance.

I thought after work drinks was more about people avoiding going home and having their balls busted over hogging the TV remote.

Players seem to be enjoying it which cancels out any negative really. Like you said training sessions remain as normal. I aways felt Richmonds greatest strength was their obsession to play for each other. They shared the footy and helped block, shepherd and look for guys in better positions. If this camp can improve us in that area even by just 5%. I will take it

From Giansiracusa’s recent training report I got there’s a big emphasis on always being switched on and always doing what you are meant to be be doing. And how that happens collectively.

Player X comes in to stand the mark for Player Y, and this allows Player Y to then move down the ground to do their expected role there. And the others players set up as expected.

I like this approach, especially for a group that is still building itself into a functional team. You will always have to use your instinct (and not a robotic game style) as that’s the nature of footy where the oval shaped ball will make things unpredictable.

But there are certain fundamentals in setting up properly and knowing (trusting) where your team mates are that helps you get/control possession of the football.

Essendon players knowing what to do and making sure they are helping others do their role at the same time, well is the type of bold idea we’ve been missing for 15 years

Not allowed to do that once the ump calls “Stand!”

I note Darcy is not included in @CJohns best mids over the pre-season so far.
So, is he going under the radar, not trying, minimising chance of injury, injured or what?

What is the conventional wisdom for an elite mid?
Take it easy in the preseason, or
Go hard at it to keep up the momentum built in the previous season to hit the ground running in March to be cherry ripe for round 1

Parish just has had an indifferent pre season. Club have been managing him a lot this pre season to freshen up his body. Didn’t do much up to Christmas. Only last few weeks he has been doing full training. Not concerned in the slightest saying that. He is fit and ready to go

Great.
Well, Darcy’s magnet might as well be glued onto the whiteboard in the match committee meeting room.
Players notionally outside the best 22 need to bring it in preseason, not to mention use pre-season as a key development period. Competition for spots is enormous; they need to strut their stuff.

i just hope they’ve managed to finally chisel it off the FP position…

Nope, still stuck there. Worsfold used some sort of epoxy to keep it there,

Fortunately, after Shiel went down, Rutten drew an arrow using permanent marker indicating Parish is now in the midfield.
