Training report 5 August 2020

Don’t mess with me like that…

Cheer would’ve been for Clarke I’d expect…

That’s great to hear. But it’ll count for nothing if they stick with Bellchambers in the forward line, my nonna would offer more pressure than he would… although she is intimidating with a wooden spoon

Thanks @stir_fried_ewok for taking the time to give us such an excellent report - superb.

And for the trip down memory lane with your @Alan_Noonan_10 tribute. As noonan would say… bene factum

Drapes just had a normal training session and is obviously saving the freakshow stuff for friday night.
Hooker hasn’t looked fit for years but we know what we’ll get from him when he’s back in.

Haha…that is so true. @stir_fried_ewok was telling me today that he watched training last year before the Gold Coast game. Hooker could barely bend down to pick up the ball. But he won us the game with that late goal from about 50.

Despite his injuries it seems Heppell has been in superb nick all season. Just needs the match sharpness but it’s a testament to the pro he is. Badly need his leadership.

Great observation Aboods!
Hooker strikes me as a guy that has played semi injured for most of his career. Last year he was probably injured for the bulk of the 2nd half but he still played a large portion. Such is his importance.

His role also doesn’t need to do midfield running that Heppell needs to do. So the bar is lower for Hooker in a way.

Hooker is the best big defender we have however he isn’t a massive runner at least not that I recall.

Just my 2 cents.
Zerk is still young and will be omitted when Hooker is able to play.

I would be very interested to see our win/loss ratio with Hooker playing. He is a massive barometer of the team.

Don’t believe the hype around Tippa being the barometer. This guy is more important imo. Of course Tippa is a massively important player,Hooker is more important though.

nothing wrong with that

I reckon Daniher plays if everything goes right In 5-6 weeks.

2 weeks full training and 3 scratch matches… 2 of those just half games.

actually one other thing. Cahill had a tennis racket out near the end of training. I hope he’s not off to Collingwood next year

this seems about right. how many rounds are left though? it’s cutting it fine

I think making finals this year will ruin next year’s campaign with the late finish. By the time they have their mandatory leave and get back to training, it’s will nearly be January.

Just like a Dan Andrews lockdown

Legendary report. Honestly. I might have read it twice - I’m now 10 minutes down instead of 5! Woohoo!! Rockin’ this lockdown…
