Goddard would approve.
At training last year Cara did most of the teaching of ball movement patterns, with Truck occasionally taking a drill. Then they would move into the backs, mids & forwards groups with their line coaches.
Is it the same so far this year?
Pretty similar but far less match simulation. Almost into their groups straight away
Personally i think this is the best he has looked at this stage… and engaged with team mates more importantly. He is a lot more vocal and supportive
I think that’s nothing new - from what I can remember in my relatively short time on Blitz, posters often lament that we never do match simulation early in pre season.
cheers CJohns - any thoughts on what Giansiracusa is bringing to the training.
The media quote a week or so ago was,
“Daniher hasn’t looked back since leaving Essendon “
And rightly so too! Now if I can just get everyone else to follow suit that would be great.
And if I don’t get a minimum of 3 free kicks in the goalsquare in the forum game there may be a resignation in the mail.
Ridley hopefully
Hard to know as yet but the players absolutely love him when you see body language
You might have to don a hawks jumper for that to happen Nackers.
Sorry…Sir Nackers
A few observations from my attendance today.
Johnson is a beautiful kick. He was in full training. Could be a little bonus for us.
Josh Misiti looks a very likely type to me - excellent kick - whether around the ground or kicking for goal - mobile, good size and handles the ball well.
Wright is a good kick for goal, as we know.
Moore is like his father in running style and has some talent.
Cox, when kicking for goal, was way off target on numerous occasions. Some shots missed the lot. However when I left he was the last player out there practicing his kicking for goal with one of the staff.
Draper is skilful and seems to have built up physically over the break.
Langford leading the pack when running. Looks very impressive on the track. A bit of a leader out there in the way he applies himself.
Parish the same.
Perkins, Zerk-T, Stringer not sighted by me. Heppell ran some laps with Zaharakis and didn’t join in the general training.
Hind will be a bonus for us this year imo.
Stewart spent some time in one of the drills playing a defensive role.
Session finished around 11.30.
sounds like someone who will be in the leadership group to me
Holy ■■■■!!! We ‘Essingtoned’ his kicking already…
Now that’s development.
Indeed. On hols with the family so rancho relaxo.
Are plebs still not allowed closer?
You make it sound like its a good thing!
Probably used to playing most of his footy in the leafy inner North Eastern suburbs and doesn’t know what’s hit him as he tries to line up the goals in the windswept, exposed wasteland of Tullamarine
