Training Report - Wed 7th December 2023

@jackie_mihocek , you’re the kind of professor emeritus of training report writers, but doing hardly any reporting yourself these days. I hope that’s because you’ve found somewhere nice and cozy to hang out with Tiff.

Must be on the brain.

Remember, Rance was coaching the defenders this time last year?

Was that “real” or was I dreaming. I never got that close to royalty.

Rance says you need to just have faith

“Keep the faith and have orgies”

@Ian_Curtis is a regular Joy Division of this New Order of training reporters

its about having the endurance to able to execute when you get tired …the quicker you get tired the standard falls off massively…

you need to train to a level exhaust and execute because thats when skills are tested…sloppy low hand balls poor recovery rate before set shots…and the most telling one is poor decision making due to fatigue of mind and body!

Yes yes, but if we’re not careful too much love will tear him apart

Curious if training watchers have seen much of Setterfield…

If that is having a shot @CJohns for plugging their Patreon podcast, I think that is unfair.

They provide plenty of free content and have attracted amazing contributors that we wouldn’t otherwise get to hear. The volume of quality podcasts has been extraordinary of late. The Sash is another great quality podcast that also has premium paid content (with nothing like The Lunchtime Catch Up output of late).

Letting us know when a Podcast on training is being produced and is ready I think is a service. Fair enough if you don’t want to pay $3 a month, but I’m sure what Scott and Grant are getting paid is peanuts compared to the hours they put into creating content, and some money for good equipment, etc is easily justifiable. And a large portion of it is available to everyone for free, so everyone benefits from those who are willing to help cover some of the costs.

Thanks @CJohns for your passion and enthusiasm in producing your Podcasts, not to mention all of your other social media contributions.

Only problem is that I only understand 10% of what Jackie writes. Jackie’s target audience is the literate.

Yep i dont normally plug patreon on here but considering nackers was on the show i thought it might be of some interest. Everyone has a choice. Our free shows will always be the main thing advertised here

I’ve been a patron for the pod since day 1. I think the average price per episode works out to be about 50-75c. It’s been consistently great value and interesting content. I don’t think the lads are making a fortune off it, but it helps pay the bills for the free pod and probably drives them to make a better quality product for both free and paid episodes.

I could be way off the mark but I just took Deckham’s comment as a compliment to Ian Curtis - basically saying that his commentary and analysis of training was that good it could warrant a Patreon account.
