His dad was a driller?

Youā€™re not guessing. There is a whole body of evidence.

Makes for extremely good balance, so thereā€™s that.

Daicos, Matthews, even Wanganeen all short legged / long bodied, so may be a good shape for footy!

Thatā€™s disappointing. I initially read that as short of a leg. Oh well, not to worry.

He looks a bit like Ben Johnson from Collingwood

I am not worried about Tomā€™s size, based entirely on these photos and his lineage I am certain he will win multiple brownlows.

written an algorithm for that, stats boi?

Hird 4.1 may be slight, but he has some decent sized calves on him.

The maths is in my heart for this one.

I reckon thereā€™s a song in thatā€¦

who is the big blue guy?

Wouldnā€™t matter what body type young Hird has if he has his fathers brains.
Best footy brain Iā€™ve seen.

Jimmy Hirdā€™s magic had nothing to do with his physical size

Coleman was only 6"1 and 89 kg

People often talk about Hirds brilliance (football brain, skill etc.)ā€¦ It was courage that I respected him for though. Not only to go into the contest without hesitation, but to drive himself into the ground when the team needed it. If young Tom has even a fraction of that, weā€™ve definitely got a player. To those whoā€™ve seen him whatā€™s the deal? Does he look good enough? Is he even playing (given references to his soccer background).

Heā€™s 17 FFS. Can we just leave him alone for a year or two? Talk about pressure & expectation.
