Training report - Wednesday 6 January 2021

I agree with this. I think a lot of the supposed changes are also in people’s minds imo. Stringer is an obvious example where he looks to have lost weight, but people were talking about Ham bulking up, but to me he looks no different… and how can you really tell from a photo unless there is a really obvious significant change?

Coz fans see a photo of a player in full flex mode, probably with a bit of a tan going on, looking like a million bucks.

It’s usually around this time of year where people start commenting on how much Gleeson has bulked up. Fast-forward to the regular season and it’s same ol’ Marty.

All that said, thank fark Stringer looks to have shed a few kegs around the tum-tum.

Draper looking a bit fat in the photos.

Stringer needs to work on his lats. He has a very straight bodyshape.

For mine, a lot of the bulking up from weights is unproductive. Often players will have those puffy little bicep muscles that look a bit big for the rest of their build, as a result of weights. It helps a bit, for tackling and in the push and shove of general play, but genuine strength in marking contests for KP players comes from body bulk and strength through the core (hips, thighs, backside), and generally that comes naturally from heredity, or over time with maturity (eg Madden), or not at all (eg Fletch)

When is the next session? Tomorrow or Sat?

Keeping with the times it might be Vaping Josh.

Just the usual blitzers contribute to deflation.

The players arent in the weights room just doing bicep curls, they are doing squats, bench press, deadlifts and other exercises that will make them more powerful through the legs, hips and core. None of that is unproductive.

Still watching from the outside fence or can you go in to the premise?

Outside fence only till at least March

Simon had lower back and related hamstring problems that had to be managed. He was already a champion before that

That’s not what he says. Yes he did have some injuries, but it was more than that. He tells the story of sitting on the bench in the twos and realising that he was better than that and he needed to do something about it. Which he did, to the enormous benefit of the Bombers.

1 year younger than Eyre and Brand who we know are big. If Josh is a midfield option he will be HUGE for a mid…

@THE_DON1 is he someone to be excited about?
