Training Thursday Feb 13th - in Bendigo

I think you have done very well to garner all that information out of one flippant line.

I expect he will play a similar role as last year.

Blitz whipping boy?

That’s a certainty.

Langford should be played as a forward

Langford has trained with midfield group all summer.

I was the same Jodi. I worked hard on both sides as a teen. Whilst my left foot never matched my right, it was enough to get me out of trouble. My handball though got to a point where I would forget which was my naturally dominate side. The practice of co-ordinating the kick or handball without looking like a right spaz is the hard bit, after that it just comes down to strength and refined technique.

Anyway, back to the training report. I can’t wait to find out what number prismall was wearing.

I think they should play him forward. He’s good at taking grabs and a beautiful kick of the footy. Not he’s competitive enough to play on ball. I like him in space so he can use his foot skills properly.

Yeah, a lot of people would agree with you.

Will be interesting what his role will be, if any.

I think he’s in the best 22. There’s a lot of competition for guys like Langford now though. Which is good.

Some training footage in this. Watch Mozz burn off Gleeson at the end!!

And Jake is such a legend.

Time will tell. I have no expectations this year in regards to personnel as I’m hopeful that Rutten and Cars make some significant changes. That may mean a role change for some players like Langford or it may mean no role at all.

I felt that Woosha had his favourites and had far to much faith in the senior players. I have always thought we had the players but weren’t utilising them correctly.

For mine competitive is just one reason why we have been consistently poor, skills and class is the other. Langford has those in spades so hopefully they find a role for him.

How often does Franga slowly get up after marking contests (happened in that video after lav took that mark)…

All too familiar sight

Hard to believe Stringer was a Bulldogs player. He just seems a perfect fit at Essendon.

I’m really surprised he’s not in the leadership group

my whole point is exactly with how you are thinking. you remember a few bad misses and then its drilled that much into your head that everytime they do shank a kick youre always going to go on about how bad they are. the amount of brilliant work he does outweighs those shanks you talk/rememeber.

Still needs to go that next level too be in it.

This year might be that!

I think Merrett should have definitely been in it without a question or doubt the vice captain.

Even McGrath over Zaka who is coming to an end of his career and isn’t leadership material on the park! Even though he has respect of the playing group probably as the ā€œ nice guy ā€œ

Concur. One of his two main coaching failures.

See I value three things in leaders

  1. Desire to win
  2. Never say die attitude
  3. Willingness to call put people who don’t do 1&2

Stringer is all these

  1. Stringer? I don’t see him as that.
It’s not just about offence either

When we were playing like dogs bollocks, he was the only player still presenting 100% of the time. Looking like it bothered him we were so poor.
