Thanks. Love the photos and glad to see that you heeded all the wild monkey advice (not)![]()
Seems to be not too far from Utsonomiya so will definitely look seriously at including Nikko in our plans
See you won’t get bored here easily.
I spent half the day at a museum of artwork with replicas from around the world. Saw the Sistine hall then the Mona Lisa, girl with pearl earring, waterlillies, the scream, etc all at once. Official licenced fakes!
I am impressed. This has really given me a spring board to start planning & will come back here for feedback from you all.
Blitz is seriously amazing
I just love Japan ![]()
I can see that. You’ve inspired me !
As an aside - I still have your blood moon pic as the wallpaper on my phone. ![]()

After a couple of emails they found my booking. Then had issue with Vietnam Airlines and Visa payment but that sorted now and ready to roll . The wife is not happy though to fly on an ATR plane.
Great thread to stumble upon, off to Tokyo/Osaka in a week for our honey moon, have written a bunch of things down thanks all!
Congrats! (Also don’t forget to give us a trip report
-am keen to hear about any recommended must do’s).
Hope you have a wonderful time.
Good that it’s sorted.
The ATR’s are fine and are a good aircraft
So glad I got that Latitude travel card for my last trip. ![]()

Had to jump through farking hoops - by way of providing documents- too, so a fair bunch of my identity has been compromised.
Fan-farking-tastic…
As far as I am aware, it is not clear which set of Latitude customers have had their IDs stolen.
What makes you sure your identify has been compromised? Have Latitude told you this?
The two emails I’ve had from them confirming my information has been compromised…
Not farking happy at all.
And this on top of the Optus breach.
Ah that’s no good.
I got an email from them that talked in general terms about the hack, but nothing since.
FWIW, current Latitude card holder and no email… yet.
I got hit with the Medibank breach and had to change Drivers license and some other bits and pieces and we have a latitude card but nothing from them yet in the way of emails etc
The one talking specifics arrived this evening…
According to the media the attack is still ‘active’ & expected to widen.
Did they tell you what specific data of yours had been stolen?
I’ve had a 28D card for over a decade, bugger if I can remember the application process.
Perhaps your application being so old may have saved you (possibly it’s been archived and/or deleted).
Today’s email confirmed that “some of my personal information has been stolen”.
It goes on to say that the incident has "resulted in information obtained from you at the time you applied for credit or sought a quote from Latitude so we could verify your identity being compromised. This includes:
- Images of your driver licence which, where applicable, included your photograph, name, address, date of birth, licence number, card number and expiry date.
- The personal information you supplied during your application or quote request which, where applicable, included your full name, address, date of birth, your email and your phone number.
- A photograph of your face provided as part of Latitude’s identity verification process."
As I said, the process had me jumping through hoops. I can’t remember everything I had to provide, but it certainly included bank statements (which mercifully I remember redacting sensitive information from, including the account details), pay cheques, driver’s license and possibly my passport.
