I’ll call them up and check.
You should have n email that shows it or it should be on your Qantas app. Turkish airlines and Qantas don’t have a codeshare partnership so I’d be thinking the first leg from MEL is on Qantas with a QF flight number?
No, the flights are Melbourne to London (Turkish), then later Split to Singapore (Turkish) and then a few days later Singapore to Melbourne (Qantas). I’d have expected them all to be completely separate from each other. But for some reason the entire set of flights is in the Qantas app. Only the Turkish Airlines ones are in the TA app.
is it MEL-SIN-IST-LHR all on Turkish Airlines?
It sounds like a very weird ticketing setup but if you have been ticketed it’s a legitimate routing.
Yes, that top one is correct.
It was a hacker fare, via Cheers. If it wasn’t for some reason all showing in the Qantas app, I’d just have continued on as treating them as two separate sets of flights, and head to the Air NZ lounge before flying out (Turkish has access to their lounge in Melbourne). Just found it all being in the Qantas app as very weird.
That said, I don’t know if the Qantas international business lounge is better than Air New Zealand’s, so maybe its a big nothing burger.
Difference between revenue tickets and award tickets.
Most airlines will have their own individual partnerships and alliances for award flights. With Qantas points for example you can book OW airlines plus Emirates, KLM, Air France, China Airlines and several more that are in different alliances
Turkish Airlines are great. Last month flew Mel to Ist via Singapore and then onto to Dublin.
But it was business class.
Turkish and Qantas don’t have a codeshare agreement but Turkish will use a number of airlines to bolster their network and to Australia they will use the likes of Malaysian, Qantas, Jetstar, Thai Airways to get you between an Asian port and Australia aswell as their own services.
It is a bit odd that it all shows up on the Qantas app but as long as you can select seats etc that’s fine.
I would almost guarantee you that you won’t get access to the Qantas lounge in Melbourne and will have to use the Air NZ lounge which is miles better anyway
yes but those airlines are in different alliances.
You can codeshare across alliances
There are plenty of benefits to but there can also be some glitches and curveballs. You start delving into some pretty murky water with some codeshares
@Aceman will Turkish airlines start going straight to Athens with only 1 stopover from Oz anytime soon?
Tentative dates so far of November 2026 from SYD and June 2027 from MEL
Awesome. Thank you!
Depends what happens in the middle east i guess…
Well then, I won’t bother chasing up with Qantas anyway! ![]()
Have you done HHH in Hollywood or Orlando? I have the option of doing either or maybe even both but I’m not sure if they are any different or if 1 is better than the other. I’m also looking at maybe doing Hallowscreem at Seaworld. Can’t wait to see Dark Universe at Epic & the kids are looking forward to all the Harry Potter stuff.
I haven’t done the HHH at Hollywood, only Orlando.
From the reviews I’ve heard, Orlando is by far the better option. A lot more space, better themes etc.
Hollywood does have the Terror Tram apparently but honestly the reviews are far more positive about Orlando
Thanks. I’ve got more time to do Orlando so I was leaning that way already. Super excited they are doing a Jason house & my 17 year old is pumped for FNAF.
Hey @wimmera1…I called in for a beer but you’ve closed. What’s going on?
Ohhhhhh, do not like.
Loved that place.
Enjoy the great north west, isn’t it awesome?
