Nearly 8000 islands so a tight squeeze 
Agree completely about it being better than Bali, Thailand etc. My best mate married a Filipino girl so we have visited her extended family about a dozen times over the years and try to visit somewhere different each time and still have only ticked off about 30-40 islands.
Make sure to get to Palawan if you can, one of our favourites

Hahah oh i mean all the islands that everyone visits. El nido, Palawan i want to yes!! Unfortunatly this was just a week get away from life so i didnt really know what to expect. Definitly going to go deeper onto the other islands that people generally go and visit! Best thing was i only met about 4 or 5 australians the whole time, one of them she travelled with us aswell! The rest were from everywhere else. So freaking awesome.

a few more random pics!
we had a BBQ out on the deck one night, and in the background of one pic you can see some groups of penguins (obviously wanting to join in!)
the orange bits you can see in the piece of ice are krill, one of the main foods for penguins seals and whales. Due to climate change, pollution and commercial harvesting, there is a concern that the food chain could be under threat, and we were urged to avoid buying any products that contain krill.
on one of the zodiac trips, rather than doing a landing, we went up on an ice floe (section of sea ice, different to an iceberg), and were able to get out and walk on it. Very cool (pun intended!)
and what trip through ice cold water would be complete without a hot chocolate served to you by a penguin?!

Is an hour and 20 minutes enough time between domestic flights at Brisbane airport? I will check in online and only have carry on baggage and I have a seat near the front on my arriving flight.
Plenty of time if everything is on schedule.
If it’s the same airline it’s even better
I’ve heard about Black Friday and Travel Tuesday deals, but it seems to be more of an American domestic airline thing?
Most airlines will do something for it.
The likes of Etihad and Qatar have had things like 15-20% all flights but with the current air travel demand I think this year will be quiet

Yeah, as long as everything is on time, you’ll be laughing. The domestic terminal at Brisbane isn’t that big - walking from end to end is 10-15 mins.

30 different currencies you can hold in your account. Eg to lock in a rate and then say for example spend Yen in japan.
Different plans depending on usage but there is a lower use free option.
I wouldn’t put huge amounts into their accounts. Its not an Australian bank, its a neo bank
But certainly an excellent way to protect your Australian bank accounts travelling and say budget just for the trip.
Its won canstar awards and my card came from their Sydney office.

Thanks. Does the physical card actually work in shops internationally? I have a Wise card that works with the same principle (loading cash in different currencies) but despite being a Visa card does not actually work in shops, only online.
Slightly off topic, but I’ve just landed in Sydney for work and as I had a bit of time I jumped on the Airport Train for the first time.
It’s unbelievable. It’s right at the airport, you tap on with your credit card (No Myki) required and it takes 15 minutes.
How Melbourne doesn’t have one baffles me. This is the best.

Did you check the price and where did it land you?
Friends in Sydney would not use it because of the cost and connections.
Just at Martin place. No idea the price but i assume it’s cheaper than a taxi, and quicker.

I’ve been through SYD about 40 times this year and haven’t used it and I reckon of the 100’s or thousands of times I’ve been through SYD I’ve used it maybe a handful of times. The cost isb no issue but I just find the connections for I need just don’t work out so I don’t bother. If I was going somewhere close to the stations I might consider it. I know plenty of people that swear by it though and absolutely love it but I believe patronage isn’t as great as what operators would like
