lol just saw the StKilda bloke got Vigo’d at the VFL tribunal and got a 4 week suspension. And because the VFL is a farce of a competition they have 2 byes in the next 4 weeks so he now misses 6 weeks.

I don’t often agree with Ross Lyon but his take on this I completely agree with.
Suspensions in the VFL for AFL listed players should be referenced to AFL games.

On that show with McGuire, Hird put it in perspective. He said that the AFL is terrified of liability for concussion. It needs to come clean, make it clear that any action that results in concussion gets a standard 3 weeks minimum.
If the AFL were truly serious they would ban the speccie too.
You can legally knee a bloke on the head and concuss them going for a mark but don’t dare tackle them and accidentally cause a head knock.

Probably should just have the players PlayStation battle each other on AFL Live 2003. That would be much safer for all concerned.

That wouldn’t mean they outlaw the speccie.
They would just say, if you’re going for a mark and you knee a bloke in the head that causes concussion you are likely to get week/s. Duty of care etc.
If not, play on. That might happen one day.
How many players have been concussed from a speccie?
Can’t recall any but I’m sure it has happened.
the actual issue here is really that the saints have 2 byes in 2 months because the AFL can’t be ■■■■■■ to run the VFL like a professional sporting competition instead of the half-assed farce that it is

That’s what I believed esport to be. I was shocked to learn that esports did not play AFL on the PlayStation. Pity, i was looking forward to being an ardent supporter.
Not sure you can say that was straight up punching someone. It looked like it was a push that slipped high so you can see how it was downgraded from intentional to careless.
