I actually don’t hate this decision. It would be great if they were consistent in similar cases moving forward, which they won’t be.

I don’t remember which player got reported twice in the one match, found guilty of the first charge, then treated as having a clean record for the second…
EDIT: Joel Selwood (of course) in 2021, and Emma King three in one match. And at least Cunnington and McGovern. Dunno if they got rid of the “one was striking, one was kicking, both were first offences for that type” loophole since then.
Just seen the Pendlebury incident.

At least they cleared him, but the fine should be contested in court.

Going back and watching some of what was shown, he told the umpire he had a blood nose and showed him but the ump did not send him off under the blood rule. Very strange.
