Late to the party on this one, but I’m genuinely enjoying Monarch: Legacy of Monsters right now. Godzilla by way of the X Files and Oppenheimer, a cross-generational thing continually jumping timelines, with Kurt Russell and his son playing the same character in the modern day and the Cold War 50s respectively. The new Godzilla films have been miserable FX-blighted drek as a whole, but this is actually pretty good.
A few years late I know, but I’ve been watching Mr.Robot since it started on Stan. Four episodes in and am enjoying it enough to keep going with it at this stage, but is it really a show just for boffins?
I’m only 1 episode in, and it’s… Fine, I guess. It overstayed its welcome a few seasons back, I reckon. Much like the movies, it went downhill once Terry Silver arrived. And Kenny.
I’ll still watch it until the end, though. (This is the end, yeah?)
ive watched the first episode and I can already see its going to be the same as every other season… I haven’t gone back yet, but its got “The Walking Dead” stink about it, that is a show that killed its legacy by doing the same ■■■■ over and over again.
Anyone hanging out for the Gladiator sequel might want to have a look at this one. Covers similar territory to the original movie: gladiators, slaves, chariot races, senate double-dealing, murderous family plots.
Sure, there’s dodgy CGI, cringeworthy dialog, bad acting and a barely there narrative but it’s oddly addictive.
