Anyone watch The Boys season finale? It’s trash but I still find it entertaining overall.

just started watching quarry on Foxtel , assume it’s on binge too. I started to watch this show perhaps a few years ago and didn’t follow it through at the time . it’s really high quality . crime show set around America 70’ s Vietnam vets returning home and getting caught up with organised crime . sounds a bit cliche but very high quality production . set in American South , it’s also got a great soul based soundtrack .
acting is very high quality from a great cast including Aussies Damon Herriman who is a very good character actor and I saw Matt nable pop up in a later part of this 1 series show. also features aunt Lidia from handmaids and Peter Mullan who’s very good as the very shady broker as he’s called kingpin.
can’t understand how this show didn’t make it past 1 series
It’s top notch and i’m now going to rewatch it thanks for the reminder.
And yeah, deserved 3 at least, puts so many ‘great’ shows to shame
I saw it on box sets last week and forgot I didn’t continue with it .

I remember reading the Quarry books many years ago. Trying to think of the author, but it wasn’t his main string of books. Was it Max Allan Collins?
I’ve just started watching Veep - only 2 eps in.
Can’t believe I’ve missed it for so long, it is very good. Probably the show most like Arrested Development I’ve ever seen.

Coincidentally just two in myself, have tried over the years but never the right time. Finding it Ianucci clever on steroids and with the American actors the lines are too forced. Expect it to get much smoother and better though. Hard ask all that non stop archness.
One of the funniest shows made. Some classic lines. I don’t know how they kept a straight face.

I came to this show late, Oldman is brilliant, but really there’s no weak links in the cast. I like the realism of the storytelling, removing all of the James Bond flashiness.
Best part of starting a show late: Season 4 is only a few weeks away.

The Decameron dropped on Netflix today…a story of behaviour amongst the rich and desperate during the Black Death in Florence in 1348.
They didn’t bother with anybody changing their native accent so it’s all in English with English, American and notably, Erin from Derry Girls with her native Derry accent, but wearing comfortable shoes. The gawky girl from Sex Education is a key player.
Not too raunchy so far.
Loved the last Episode of latest season of The Boys.

This one showed in Melbourne in the 70’s .In italian with English sub titles,all the Italians were laughing before the appropriate sub title was shown .Also no pretty faced people in the film all pretty ugly .before me and bomber3232 got married.The Decameron (film) - Wikipedia
