TV show thread (2022-?)

The first champion of champions was fantastic. I think it was a 2 part episode. Also has one of the craziest taskmaster moments of all time for me.

he is ok in very very small doses(he has been good on Would i lie to you). Even though his laugh annoys me

I did laugh when Julian Clary in one of the seasons didn’t really know who he was when looking at his picture

Guy Mont Spelling Bee has this too
ā€œOk that’s enough, stop trying so hardā€ :joy:

The next round of Parental Guidance.
Imo this show is a head scratcher.
The group talk about a theme Screentime
Each parent group has a said parental style. This to me speaks volumes of bs.
e.g The protech couple have a 12 yo boy, plays fortnite, has his own mobile phone.
His parents said in the opening he used $1500 during 2 hours of tick tock. He spends 65hrs a week on screen time at home.
Above his computer shelf is a wad of $50 bills in a jar. In Australia Fortnite is rated 15+.
To me the parents have already let this kid down.
Also the show needs to be interactive. It leaves too many questions unanswered, aswell alot more questions after the group discuss.

Watched the first 3 eps of the Netflix doco of the 7/7 terrorist attack on London, with 4 bombs going off on tube trains and buses.

My sister and her husband and 2 or 3 of their kids were in London at the time, and an Irish mate and his Oz wife having to walk home from their job in the City of London (the square mile around St Pauls) to Wimbledon.

I remember the cops had a little bit of an Oops moment and wondered how they handled it. One episode to go to see how they acknowledged it. Little Johnny got his head on screen with his fellow war criminal, Blair.

Are you saying I shouldn’t let my 12 year old play GTA?

It is totally up to you. Your are the parent. The rating is a suggested guidline.

No…hit it full amidships. I’m not sure of the point that the stuff up initially occurred, and they confused the two guys.

its too funny. shouldn’t be allowed to be that funny.

As a newb to this show, can I clarify which locale of Taskmaster is getting all the praise here?

I’m looking to sail the seven seas in search of comedy gold.

The OGs. Always the OGs.

(NZ is ok.)

I figured as much but I didn’t want to be racist.

Except against the Americans, of course. I imagine their version is as absolutely, heinously humourless as every other ā€œremakeā€ they’ve done.

In case I haven’t mentioned it previously, Amazing Race Asia is the best of that franchise. Season 2 is amazeballs for Best Heels Ever.

Good series just watched on Netflix- highly recommend. It brought back some memories for me. I was in London when two IRA bombs went off in the late 1990s over a 10 day period. Heard them both - the sound travelled across the city. Second bomb we were in central London and had to walk home to Wimbledon. It was hectic and very unpleasant.

I’ve seen a couple of other terrorist docos too.

800 Metros is the story of the truck attack in La Rambla is Barcelona
And there was one about the Bataclan siege in Paris with a couple of other attacks by the same people. One at a sport stadium, maybe Parc des Princes, another just in the streets attacking people at open air restaurants.

I’m glad a lot of focus was put on what happened to J.C. de Menezes. It was an absolute tragedy of epic proportions what happened to that poor guy.

I couldn’t work out how they tracked the terrorist from when he left home, got on the bus twice, and then caught the train without realising they were different blokes.
