Did the first two episodes last night.
It’s a fast and slow burn. Very BCS visually.
Will continue before giving an opinion, but what’s her face is quite good with the acting.

I love Rhea Seehorn. Kim Wexler is one of the great characters.
I look forward to watching this.
Just watched the first two episodes, loving it so far.
I’ve been watching Maigret on iView. For some reason the Brits seem to love Maigret even more than the Frogs. As one who has read a lot of Maigret, this Maigret is all wrong. He’s a typical TV cop: dark, intense, brooding, haunted, driven. The real Maigret was none of the above. He was content with his life at work and at home; he knew he was good at his work and he got on with it and did it. Loved his wife, liked his job and his colleagues, liked good food and drink.
Putting all that aside, is it any good? It’s nothing special. It’s been politically corrected: the sidekicks (Lucas, LaPointe, etc.) have been transformed from male to female and one half of them of course are black. We’ve had a cabinet minister with an amputated arm. It’s not a problem, it’s just that it’s so obvious.
Binged all but the last two episodes of Black Rabbit.
It’s very good. I wouldn’t call it top tier, but it’s very good.
Extremely Ozark-influenced. Same tension, same little graphic hints at the start of the episode, same Batemen/Linney direction in some eps.
Just not quite as good, which is a very minor criticism.
If someone wanted to make a show that stood out from all the others, the Maigret of the books would be a good starting point. Every bloody show is about a driven, brooding, dark and grim cop or detective. A contented, happy detective would be a real innovation.
Why isn’t Pluribus getting any attention, 2 episodes in and mind blow, especially as it is the writer of Breaking Bad.
Loved the first two episodes
Pluribus has been really good, very funny in bits.
Love the guy who got Air force one!
Is it dark or violent? Looking for a good show to watch with the Mrs.
Its not Dark or Violent yet.
Vince Gilligan has his very own style , almost as identifiable as Hitchcock . he’s a modern day genius I think
Its ptetty bleak
Death in paradise is perfect as the light hearted detective show. Plenty of comedic moments in each episode
I’m enjoying Grace, set in Brighton with John Simm as Det Supt Roy Grace.
Everything else I’m watching doesn’t belong in this thread.
True. I’m not saying Maigret as a show should be like that, though. The crimes are serious and Maigret works hard to solve them. It’s just that he’s not a morose, brooding person, like every other detective on TV.
Blue Lights current season is as good as ever. Just a great show.
Not Rowan Atkinson or Gérard Depardieu then?
Don’t remember who played him in the way back when in noir et blanc.
In France Jean Gabin played him in several films and he’s remembered as “the” Maigret. In England I remember Rupert Davies played him in a series called Detective, and then Michael Gambon played him in the early 90s for two seasons and was excellent. Rowan Atkinson was just plain wrong. I don’t think I saw Gerard Depardieu.
It was a ripper!
