Had no expectations but following this one too… a few episodes in now. Got me onboard
I gave up after two episodes, it annoyed me how many location shots they would use. Pretty much just to show off the scenery. Also a few things just weren’t adding up.
Just finished a thousand years of solitude on Netflix. Really impressive production from Colombia based on a book that was said it could never be made into a tv series. Some may struggle with it because it is both dark and has a lot of moments of magic surrealism (not to mention it goes through multiple generations of a family that constantly uses the same names), but it’s a great adaptation of the book and really well done.
I think I only watched 2 episodes. I was trying to use the book to improve my Spanish vocab (one copy in English and another in Spanish).
I’ll have to get back to it to see the scene in the first paragraph of the book.
Did we determine that this was dramatic football voice talking up crap match man?

New season of Blue Lights out and already smashed through it haha. Another fantastic season.
Also - that was using a VPN set to the UK. And clicking yes to having a TV LICENCE.

I’ve been meaning to rewatch S1 and reconfirm that it actually is good. The other season’s are basically slop and it has made me question if it was always like this.
The books certainly aren’t high art, they’re pulpy fun but not slop. At the time I thought S1 was great.
I think I’m going to get rid of Netflix. Absolute trash this year.

Clearly, it makes so much more sense now. But really worth a look.

I did the same before season 3. Glad I did. There was such a gap between 2 and 3. Worth going back just to appreciate Rashida Jones again. And the Bernard redemption arc is also better appreciated. ■■■■, I hated that guy and then I loved him. Tim Robbins aced it.

Yeah, digging season 2 of The Gentlemen. 5 eps in. A few twists are a bit signposted and predictable, but loving how nasty it’s getting.
