TV show thread (2022-?)

Was only at ep3 when this was posted. Yes better than 1 and most certainly darker. Damn how long are we gonna wait for 3.

Now get to eps 6 and 7.

Finished today

FINALLY got around to watching Boy Swallows Universe. Really enjoyed it. Great cast (gotta adore Travis Fimmel, big Essendon supporter!). Those two kids… wow! No wonder it won so many awards. Need to read the book now!

I can recommend the audio book @Koala. I would never have picked up the book to read myself, but when it popped up on BorrowBox I thought I’d give it a go. The narrator put a completely different complexion on how I would have perceived it. Definitely enjoyed it more because of that. It’s not a lifestyle that’s comfortable to read about. For me anyway. Great characters though. And the series did it justice. Especially the kids. They were so good.

Finally watched Scrubs new season. Not sure if it is just because I loved the show so much but I really enjoyed it, thought they did it all really well.

Picked up for a second season, spewing a couple of the cast membrs wont be in there, thought they were all good and 1m times better than the crap of Scrubs- Med school

Sick all day today so just flicked on the Sienfeld channel on fox. Still an all time great show, reckon it is that and Scrubs for me that I can just have them on repeat and never get bored of them.

Just got done watching S1 of the U.S. version of Shameless. I just never bothered with it all those years ago, as I’d watched the UK one and thought the yanks will just stuff it up. It’s actually damn good and way more full on than I thought it would be. Not sure how far I’ll get through 11 or whatever the hell it is seasons though.

Never seen scrubs. But Seinfeld is my all time favourite show. Just absolutely brilliant

The ā€œreunionā€ they did on curb was absolutely fantastic too

Just wanted to give a big pump up to the new series Neagley that’s on Prime. It’s an off shoot of the series Reacher.

It’s very digestible at just 8 episodes.

Nice character development, tense moments, funny moments and great fight scenes.

I’d recommend giving it a go.

9/10.

I’m struggling to visualise how the Yanks could mirror the squalor and desperation of Manchester and the north, as depicted in the English version.

Yeah, it’s weird. When i first saw it, i thought ā€˜wow, the most boring regular character from Reacher gets a spin-off?ā€

But it is actually better than the past three seasons of Reacher. (Still nowhere near Reacher season 1, which feels like a totally different show at this point)

Yeah I hear what you mean. She was pretty bland in the Reacher series itself but we got to see more depth in this spin off.

Keno is extremely likable.

And Renee… wowee.

Damn straight

I just watched the first episode of Last Seen on AppleTV. Patrick Brammell is an ex-cop and current dispatcher whose daughter was kidnapped 11 years ago and hasn’t been seen since.

A body is found down near Portland which seems to be her.

One point I’ll make is that if you want to get anywhere in SW Victoria, you would never use the Great Ocean Road which they almost use as the way to get anywhere. The only time to use it is to go somewhere else on the GOR, or indeed, off it. Great scenery of course. Good for the distribution rights.
