TV show thread (2022-?)

Episode 4 of TLOU has reverted back to type. Shame. If it’s just going to be The Walking Dead with HBO money i’ll finish off the season but quit there.

Really focused on the character development of Joel and Ellie which is fine but it lacked the meat we needed after the cracking side story they told last week.

I think last weeks episode done more harm than good while it was fantasic and everyone enjoyed it,it halted the shows momentum from the first 2 episodes imo

You could skip episode 3 and it wouldn’t hurt the show glad they got back on track with this weeks episode.

Watched the first episode of Cunk On Earth, and laughed a lot. Will try not to binge but it’s a tough ask.

I’m hoping Cunk On Earth sends Technotronic back into the charts again.

watching His Dark Materials

Jebus is every fantasy/sci fi just charismatic teen + prophecy + find this magical sword/item + menacing villain or am i going crazy

seems lazy.

I thought episode 5 of Cunk was pretty ordinary. I think it had done its dash.

Caught the second ep of Season 2 of Bloodlands. James Nesbitt is some sort of unit.

Now on ep 5 of Women At War. It’s going a tad skew-wiff too.

I just finished Women at War the other day.

Just enjoyed it for what it was and the many good looking men. :slightly_smiling_face:

These women at war, they are at war with each other over who gets to date the good looking men? Reality tv is getting desperate but I might tune in if there’s genuine map on the table strategy involved.

It’s the early days of WW1 in northern France.

There’s a nun, an abortionist, a prostitute and a woman whose husband runs a factory making trucks. Bit of spying, bit of chicanery, the general’s son is the doctor at the hospital. But no…they’re not fighting over which one gets to root which bloke.

Yes I was being silly, I had noticed it as it’s getting a bit of a push. Recommend for someone who likes a bit of historical fiction but probably won’t be swayed by proportion of hot chads?

Blitz has done it again… watched the Bear last two eps last night. Friggin great television and acting.

Just caught this the other night. First time l have seen it and knew nothing about it prior. I will run with it for now, agree about the Nesbitt character, he isn’t exactly going by the book.

I’d put it as halfway between…some moderately realistic fighting (pre-trench warfare), but the four sheilas are the main protagonists and two of them in particular are hot for some French coq….well, maybe one of the coqs n’est pas français.

Haha! I’ll stick it on the watch list

You really need to see S1 before this new season. It’s a continuation of the same story and I can’t imagine it would make a lot of sense otherwise.

I don’t have access to any on-demand services, so l will just have to make do.

Based on amazing books written decades ago. Most tv is derivative of these works. Books by Philip Pullman

Finally finished Breaking Bad during the week. Such an awesome series, I don’t know why I ignored it for so long. Amazing how such a simple premise could be sustained for so long and so brilliantly.

Will have a break now before diving into BCS.
