TV show thread (2022-?)

Just started it tonight. The music is a great part of the show. Love how they brought the Refused song back again and just blasted it in the closing credits.

has anyone watched The Idol? I found it quite challenging to watch

Didn’t quite understand the end either - why on earth would she take him back?!

Terrible show. My binge subscription ended before I could see the last episode. But I had seen enough anyway I think!

I know I’ve watched a good show when I can’t stop thinking about it. Haven’t cared about characters this much since I watched The Wire. I hope it all works out for Carmen.

Just going slowly though season 2 of The Bear. Loved episode 4 with Marcus in Copenhagen, a graceful European feel to the pacing and dialogue.

Despite being someone with no interest in knowing how to make food well, or ever professing to be knowledgeable about good food, I get totally hooked in to the food prep scenes.

I wanted to eat everything he ate in that episode.

Just finished season 2 of The Bear.

Wonderful show. Very different to season 1, and I initially found it a little bit less compelling / slower without the chaos of the kitchen and amazing banter between characters given the focus was on their growth as individuals.

It didn’t really hook me until episode 6 (seven fishes) - everything from there was amazing television. Richie’s redemption arc (and episode 7) clearly the highlight.

Wait till you get to the Christmas dinner episode, it’s given me PTSD.

Nothing like Communist Punk Rock

Watched it yesterday. Many have talked up ep7 in here but ep6 Fishes is the one. The big name actor cameos were next level (didn’t even realise who was playing the mum till her stunning scene with Carm), the writing superb, the tension incredible, the depiction of illness saddening in its realism. Holy moly. Not to mention the tunes, and John Mulaney hilarious as Stevie.

I agree, I found episode 6 to be the pick of the bunch, and 7 was still magnificent.

The cameos were just outrageous.

Reminded me of match day thread, Sunday afternoon, Marvel 4.40pm timeslot, playing the shittest brand of football against an even ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  team and losing.

I watched it about three weeks ago and have forgotten what episode seven was about but I will never forget episode 6, it seriously stressed me out just watching. Haha.
