Do people actually regularly eat fish and chips?

Growing up, we had fish and chips every friday night. (Which I think is a Catholic thing.)

Not as regularly as the parents did, but sure. Every now and then.

I love fish and chips.

Take away for the family Friday nights, Mums one day off in the working week from deciding the dinner menu and cooking.

Meat used to be verboten for Catholics on Fridays.
But I’m pretty sure my Dad tucked into some dimmies even way back then.
But yeah, Friday night…fish ‘n’ chip night for Catholics.

Sometimes they’d take you with them.
It was like Blockbuster for millennials.

We do have some over in Adelaide that are about the size of a small dinner plate and they are made of multple potato slices so I guess technically that could be called a potato cake but the more common term here is potato fritters.

The amount of advertising in American sports is disturbing, that SB coverage was disgusting. Also dead atmosphere.

I just can’t imagine fish and chips being as popular these days with so many other options.

Uber popular near me.

Mind you people love chicken.

Weird bunch people

Fish > Chicken every day of the week

We have them on beach days, albeit not that regular, but when travelling with kids, easy to dish up a few chippies in the back seat and scoff down a dimmy while driving.

I have lunch from T/A shop once every second week, but that varies from salad roll, egg and bacon roll, hamburger with lot, chicken burger, chips & Gravy, fried Chicken and chips, 2 dimmies + potato cake or fish and chips.

sometimes we do fish and chips for birthdays, as cheap, and easy to keep everyone happy.

The good ones run like a fairground. Why wouldn’t they… we comfortably feed our family of 3 for 25-30 bucks. Any other takeaway option is minimum 60.

The bad ones get identified quickly enough and go (deservedly) ■■■■-up…

I eat “fish” at most maybe twice a year and even then it’s a piece of flake or butterfish. I’m not a big fan of chicken though and find it a pretty average meat, ok in some curries and a hot chook every now and then is ok but I wouldn’t order it at a restaurant or have it at home often

Other than Flake, fish is disgusting.

Salmon, tuna, redfin, barra…
Yeah to the nah.

Yeah I don’t eat any other seafood at all but maybe once or twice per year I get a bit of a craving for a piece of battered fish at a fish and chip shop. I immediately regret it and then go another 6 months or so before rinse and repeat
