This administration will be a failure, and then when Trump runs again (or one of his farkwit offspring) and wins in 2024, everybody will be like “what happened?”
Exactly the same thing that’s happened for 40 years.
Republicans win power. Fark everything up and do an incredible amount of damage.
Democrats win power. People celebrate as if democracy is saved. Then the democrats waste their power, break all their promises, and govern like Republicans. People who voted for them become cynical and disillusioned, and then stay home.
Republicans win back power. And do the exact same ■■■■ they did before, and then double down on some of the worst of it, because they feel emboldened by winning that people actually want them to do these things.
It’s all so predictable too, but partisan echo chambers have lobotomised the population.

Look, people like you have to accept that the majority of states (not population necessarily, but states) are conservative, and don’t want what you want. And so the Democrats have to deal with the people who can win power in those states.
Democrats do not have a single platform. Biden’s platform was not Manchins. It was not even the platform of Democrats who ran this year. So speaking of betrayal is pretty freaking naive when you don’t know the platform those 8 Democrats ran on.
And as much as it might suck they voted no on the $15 pay rise, they did vote for the stimulus. And every single one of those votes counted. Every single Democrat Senator who won in a purple or red state mattered when it came to passing this bill. One less, and in all likelihood there would be 4 years of nothing getting done; as it is, the Dems may be able to pass two major pieces of legislation via reconciliation (this is one). Does this suck? Yes. But its a reality of the current electorate.
Maybe instead of whining of what they’d like, those who are on the left need to work to expand the base so that more states in the USA vote Dems in, and make sure they educate people on the limitations of the power they won last November.

Manchin is a reliable vote on the most critical Dem legislation.
No other Dem could win his seat. He holds his seat by regularly voting against the Dems on smaller issues.
The assistance package only passed because of manchin.
In a 50:50 tie, the purple Dems are going to be the deciding vote. If the Dems can win a couple of buffer states, then they don’t have to deal with this.
