US politics - cooked

The Dems will be wanting one of the losing republicans to run as an independent and split the vote. If deSantis or someone is the nominee, they’ll want Trump to run out of sheer ego, his still-large personal following among the R base will make it impossible for desantis to win a presidential election in a non-preferential system.

If Trump wins the nomination, they’ll hope someone like Cheney will run as an independent. She’d never win and I’m sure she knows it, but even if she only gets 2-3% of the vote from that handful of republicans who can’t stomach Trump, that’s likely enough to make a Trump victory very very hard. And she might just be motivated to run as a pure spoiler candidate.

The first time - no. But he’s lost every election since (midterms and presidential).

Lets face it, the October surprise delivered by Comey was probably what tipped the scales against Clinton. She did, after all win the popular vote by millions in spite of being disliked. The other factor IMO was that she did not get into the gutter and dispute Trumps lies and defend herself which made her look weak.

I just don’t understand how anyone cannot see how broken this country is.

Is there no end to how disgusting their politicians are?

Is there no depth to which they won’t go in the pursuit of power?

The Land of The Free…what a farking joke!!!

Mate, I live here and can tell you that in many ways the country has already split. California has pretty much seceded in all but name. Same can be said about the South. Worse, the population has split completely and in my opinion, irreversibly. Democrats and Republicans HATE each other even if they live next to each other. There is a LOT of good here but increasingly a LOT of evil.

The media may as well cover me in my run for the nomination. She’ll only beat my tally by a handful of votes.

The self-hate is strong with this one.

I can say that as a fellow Indian-American.

Made all the worse by Trump who incited division and hatred at every turn. He has so much to answer for - not only in America.

It’s a fair point.
Other leaders have absolutely stood back and gone, ‘wow…look what he did! And our country is waaaaay more controlled than his…’

Mike Lindell is apparently funding Kari Lake’s appeal to the Arizona Supreme Court as well.

Even people who work at Fox know it’s mostly entertainment and don’t believe half the ■■■■ they peddle.

SMH.
