Controversial Republican Lauren Boebert hospitalised and diagnosed with May-Thurner syndrome
I’m not exactly sure what this ailment is, but I’m figuring it’s some form of “Foot in Mouth Disease” that’s remained undiagnosed for years…

Not the only clot involved there.
I hope the clot recovers to lead a useful life.
Thinking that eclipses are a sign from god in 2024 is several levels dumber than being a flat earther
Jewish space lasers gotta be right up there…
And tornadoes like to hit trailer parks in Bible belt states… what’s your point Marge.
we didn’t think they’d overturn roe, either… or enact these draconian abortion laws… or deny women basic medical care because they weren’t close enough to death, yet… or keep letting Trump off the hook for things… or rule obvious trauma related deaths as suicide so no one has to pay for it… or be able to ban over 4000 books in 10 months… or… or… or…
Project 2025 will remove all rights for anyone but men, mostly white men.
And i’ve been scared since 2016… And i’ve been right about it all.
November will be too ■■■■■■■ late and people just don’t seem to understand that. they’re so ■■■■■■ off about Gaza, rightly so, but Jesus ■■■■■■■ Christ… none of us that isn’t a white male will be able to have a say or do anything at all if we don’t get ■■■■■■ off enough about the human rights issues right here at home.
i just… i can’t believe women are so ■■■■■■■ stupid… ‘well, that doesn’t apply to me, so…’ maybe not, but it applies to your daughters, your granddaughters, your friends, your nieces…
put women in jail if they have an abortion… or if it’s deemed that their miscarriage was their own fault…
and the trans and gay communities are going to suffer so much more with all this…
i hear Scotland is nice.
France, too. The countryside… i hear it’s beautiful.
just…for those…that think nobody is stressed about Trump
the rage and fear i feel…
Wim, you are 100% right
My rage has fully transformed to fear. For me. For my biracial daughter. For my wife.
In 2017, a recent arrival to my daughter’s school from Ohio (a 6yo) took offense to her and shouted in her face “I voted for Trump! Go away!” Obviously, one can only imagine what that poor kid was hearing at home.
Why ? And why now ?
Look at the history of USA and nothing much has changed since the Pilgrims landed. Always been pre-occupied with guns, death, discrimination and the rest of the things we abhor, and Trump is just another evil in a litany of evil.
Seriously, the USA is no-where near the worst place on earth for massive issues with human rights, social disruption and hate and death.
The difference from the past is that you are see it happening by looking at social media and letting it add to your anxiety. And so many in media just stoke the fires.
But the World is by a vast majority full of good people who do good things, and there is lots of beauty all over the place, even in USA.
Good always will triumph over evil, it always does eventually, and maybe I will live to see it.
Seriously? Then leave the place.
Trust me. We are on our way out. Lucky to live in California which gives us a little bit of a buffer.
Oh, they’re not my words.
Except the italicised ones.
Would be weird if they were.
Who’s words are they ?
A friend who lives in SC.
If you want more context, I was saying Project 2025 probably wouldn’t achieve any of its aims, and she quite rightly pointed out that I didn’t think Roe would be overturned, or books would be banned, or all of the other things mentioned there, which she in fact did (fearfully) predict prior to 2016.
I can’t really fault her logic, or criticise her thinking. She has the facts on her side.
But anyway…
Nothing that happens in USA surprises me. Logic would say that Roe vs Wade was solid and would never be overturned, but having spent years doing business there, logic is not what make the place happen. Some places have been banning books for years, and in Texas I have seen Sex Shops with graphic advertising in windows, next door to a church or school. My former business colleagues were Trump voters, mostly because Hillary is a communist and Trump is good for business. Again no logic in their arguments and discussion is useless.
We have now closed our business in Houston, so I have no need to visit again. While I always enjoyed going there, I am not going to miss it.
Trump is a symptom. Not a disease.
The disease is this being the richest country in the world. Without guaranteed healthcare. Without equality and equity in taxation. Without regulations that protect its citizens from poisonous foods. Without strong constitutional guarantees to protect democracy. Without any decent oversight of technology destroying basic human rights. Without protection for children, whose largest cause of death right now is guns. Without a decent public education system that can help its citizens achieve the very basic knowledge needed to have a functioning society.
Yes, it is no doubt the most innovative, most self reliant if you can afford it, most culture-driving country in the world. Unfortunately, those benefits increasingly apply to a smaller and smaller percentage of the 320+ million people who live here.
Mar A Lago sits on a barrier island (sand dune) off the main coast of florida. It will be one of the first barriers to be inundated, probably during a severe hurricane in the near future. Given one can make land investments in much more secure sites, its a poor investment. Trump does not see that, he rejects climate change.
