US politics - fried (part 5)

Meanwhile Trump on a live stream accepts a rolex and cybertruck from unhinged conservative Adin Ross, breaks laws while doing so

plus multiple psychiatric assessments over several years

there’s a decent percentage of people in the world who think you can just roll in to the outpatients and ask for the surgery

What’s with the ā€˜Kamabla’ thing Trump keeps going on about anyway? Is there a joke or reference that I’m just too dense to understand? Cos honestly, the first time I thought it was a typo, but he keeps doing it and it’s making me wonder whether he’s legit forgotten her name.

Interesting, do you have an age cut-off that someone can change genders? Is it acceptable for a 3 year old to have their genders changed if their parents see them playing with a doll? Or perhaps it is 7 years old? Not having a go, interested in your opinion.

I thought I was just asking a question.

But I’ll say again, I’m amazed that the trans people I know, after going through the momentous shift against society norms on a deep and very personal level, over many years, and then be subjected to hate speech that goes to the very core of who they are, aren’t more seriously ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  off.

I would be.
I’d punch someone out at the slightest suggestion.

But they don’t. They’re super chill.

I thought the same thing actually, I think it’s like calling your mate John ā€œJoanā€ just to annoy him.

It’s his schtick. Mess with the names to make them sound more foreign. He did it within his own party with ā€œNimrataā€ Nikki Haley. Bigot.

At least Vance didnt call Trump some nasty names like an ā€œidiotā€ or ā€œreprehensibleā€. Oh wait, he did.

In this context though, it’s deliberately provocative. They’re not friends.

It needs to be coming from all three parties. The child needs to be at an age where they can make an informed decision, so 3 years old is out of the picture same with a 7 year old.

No one is performing a gender realignment surgery because a kid plays with a doll?

For under 18 year olds, do some reading about ā€˜Gillick Competence’.

EDIT: are you getting confused with socially identifying whilst pre teen? Because that’s different to performing medical procedures, and I think that’s how this debate gets warped.

Oh, i thought they said child mutilation. That’s much less deliberately provocative and deeply misleading. As you were. Which was accusing Wim of provoking argument by provoking an argument with him.

Nikki Haley was actually born ā€˜Nimrata’, though. I just assumed that was Trump being all ā€˜ooh look out for the scary brown person with a scary foreign name!’ like he does with Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

Kamabla just seems to be entirely made up. It is, at the risk of being cliched, weird.

@planb …What do you think of Trump as a person, a human being, a potential world leader?

That’s not very lady like from you, Wimm.

Well I stand against physical violence as I think it’s a disgraceful way of solving issues, but each to their own Wimm. Perhaps being a counsillor isn’t on the stars for you?

Probably a gaff and he’s just rolling with it now. A lot of his nicknames have stuck, but he is genuinely struggling with one for Kamala that will resonate with his base.

Is supporting a law that prohibits sexual reassignment surgery, or treatment such as puberty blockers for minors considered hate speech?

What age do you believe kids should be able to undergo this treatment?

I mean…thank you.
It’s almost as if there are two standards here.

Sloganeering dog-whistling garbage…okay.
Considered thought and personal experience…

But I would expect nothing less from RWNJ’s.

if you do it in a hateful way, sure.

I would think 14 would be young enough to start the conversation.
From personal experience and the modern internet acceptance of pansexuality, I think there’s obviously room for caution, but being aware by 14 and after a year if it still hasn’t changed then caring parents should be starting to take steps.

That’s my view, but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to be in either the trans person OR the parent’s shoes.

You make it sound like the parents don’t care.
Or the doctors (and there will be a Lot) don’t care.

I think you’re speaking from a position of complete ignorance.
